Border on the Island of Ireland

Very well. Your answer is "No." You didn't say that before. It looks like we will never know what festive wants. Bodge doesn't know what he wants so he can't tell us.

In that case you must have border controls and check that people entering the UK from the EU are suitably qualified to allow them to enter. You cannot have open borders if you wish to control entry.

The Republic of Ireland is a part of the EU.

Therefore you want border controls between RoI and the UK.

NI is part of the UK.

Therefore you want border controls between RoI and NI.

That was easy.

John, you're either not listening or you're as thick as a whale sandwich.
The common travel area stands regardless of wether we or Ireland are in the eu.

Really?

To use your own words:

Please explain how this is true!

John D said that this fella is under the bottom of a coach.
I'm saying that this Somalian refugee can sit on the bus. Whats there not to understand. Why would he cling to the underside driving through Ireland?

No,

As it stands now the Somali illegal immigrant can sit up front with the bus driver.

As what stands now?
And you talked about an illegal immigrant, not a refugee.

In Israel they has passport and scanning at bus and train stations. Do they have that in Ireland? How could you tell by just looking at a man if he's a refugee, asylum seeker. Illegal or a resident of Ireland
John has a problem with Somalians for some reason.

So your making a song and dance for nothing then?
What? You throwing your toys out the pram now?

I still don't understand what point you were making coz you don't answer anything clearly and change what's being talked about!

Ps, there's a difference between an illegal immigrant and a refugee. Can you please chose one scenario and stick to it please.
One of those would probably try to gain entry to a country underneath the bus..

Getting to the mainland from Ireland doesn't have passport control but photo ID is normally required via boat or air.

Why would an illegal immigrant hang to the botton of a bus driving through Ireland when he could just sit on the bus.

He's done the hard bit getting from France to Ireland. I don't get it. Do you?

filly is unable to express himself clearly, but he seems to think that people will be able to freely enter the UK from the EU without controls.

Funnily enough, he said earlier:

1. I do not want freedom of movement with the EU

So what he wants is for people to simultaneously have freedom of movement, and not to have freedom of movement.

I think filly must be a brexer.

No-one else talks such nonsense.

Doesn't matter what I want, or what you want. Its what we have and will continue to have, a common travel area between Ireland and the UK for Irish citizens and UK citizens, and that my thick friend is written into law.
