Coincidence?

I'm losing count:

Joe 90
Disco dancer
Diane Abbot
and now some supposed Frog.

It's getting a bit tiresome. Can't the mods do something about this?

If I'm supposed to be all of these people, I'm sharp enough to switch my nom de plume all the time and still kick your butt.

The way things are going, there are going to be a couple of dozen 'different people' on here, of various interestingly contrived names, all strongly agreeing with each other. Everyone else will have got fed up and left.

On the other hand, in a way I admire Joe: I wouldn't know how to set up multiple personalities without being rumbled by the mods/admin. I assume that, to do so, one has to have different e-mail addresses. How many different Hotmail addresses is it possible for one person to create?

He may actually be a mod/admin.

Hmm, are you questioning my whereabouts EFL? ;) ;)

(I'll give you another clue,, there was a famous (in Scotland anyway) battle there in 1745) ;) ;)

No, not at all.

Just making a point regarding what is insulting.

Some people think the first four letters of one country's name is very insulting and shall never again be heard whereas Scot, Brit etc. not to mention Jock, Taff, Yank etc. are not.

Personally, it's up to the individual, what they consider "offensive or insulting". There are those amongst us, who are so taken in with the whole "political correctness" thing, that they actively seek things to be offended/insulted about. (usually they think they're offended on others behalf, although I find that a bit condescending, (assuming someone else might be offended/insulted) ;) ;)

And for some people.

'Brit' is used as an insult in some quarters.

I dare say use of Taff, Jock etc would not be wise in some settings and Yank is definitely used as an insult in others.

It also depends on who says it.

Lack of awareness on the internet generally doesn't get you a fat lip, but a modicum of tact in real life is always sensible.

That is true, as could be anything which is said in an insulting way; shortarse, ginger, bighead etc.

However, they are not judged - wrongly - to be 'racist' and punishable.

RehangJoe, I do make the point in the post you have so, misquoted, that there are individuals (or even groups) who take it upon themselves to be "offended or insulted" on behalf of others though.
A prime example was Mary Whitehouse in the 70's. Not realising she had an off button , on her tv set, she took it upon herself to be the moral guardian of the masses. I'm sure someone's now going to say "I/We are only defending those who can't defend themselves. (a bloody poor excuse though) All they have done is to believe this politically correct, claptrap nonsense.
I can just see you writing into the BBC Points of View program, saying "I'm morally outraged at the Beeb for portraying Asian families in Eastenders as corner shop /restaurant owners." Or,,, "I'm outraged at all this mention on the news of "Black on Black" crime in London." (as if it doesn't happen) ;) ;)

No you misquoted me as saying everyone.
Now who complained about that recently?

"nit-picking" comes to mind rather than discussing the topic.
Now who said that recently?

I can't be bothered to go back in order to drag the quotes up.

Pot, black and kettle come to mind.

I didn't misquote you - you said the people who have cognitive biases were asking for the mods to step in. Everyone has cognitive biases, it's part of being human and how we learn and adapt to our environment, though I guess when you read the wikipedia page you weren't intelligent enough to realise that. I was simply pointing this out. Funny that your desire to nitpick diminishes or increases depending on how much spotlight is shining on your thinking

Nope, I dont need to misquote you, you make a fool of yourself quite competently :D

You said the people who have cognitive biases were asking for the mods to step in, now (after i point out everyone has biases) you admit to having them yourself.

I will allow you to slink off this time but you'll have to raise your game a bit, Joe

Quite right, they are not considered to be racist or punishable, under law.
But try calling your boss one of those terms and see if you are punished.
You are missing the point by retorting to a secondary comment as usual.

I presume the boss would not consider it an insult, or racist, if if were the first four letters of his or the company's name.

Don't reply by saying Mr. C**tf**k would.

That sort of puerile humour might be right up your street, but doesn't interest me. Nice to see you still making assumptions that everyone else is just like you.
