I don't completely understand the implications here. Does that, for example, mean that for every 100 immigrants 23 find work and 77 go on the dole?

As much as the Brussels mandarins would like it, we can't continue to admit immigrants on this scale. You can see that, I can see it, why can't our glorious leaders see it?

The above two posts absolutely typically illustrates the inability of GD posters to be able to read the written english words! And one of them is a former teacher. No wonder our kids leave school so poorly educated.

I don't know what language you are used to reading but you demonstrate your skill level superbly in not being able to understand what has been written.

The article said:
Downing Street has withheld publication of a cross-governmental report that suggests one potential impact of immigration is smaller than claimed.

It suggests "displacement" - the number of UK workers unemployed as a consequence of immigration - is well below the figure used by ministers of 23 for every 100 additional immigrants.

I'll explain it slowly for you imbeciles:
Previously the government ministers used to say that for every 100 migrants, 23 indigenous workers were displaced. (that means they were unemployed as a result of the migrants, and for the really dopey ones, children are not considered as indigenous workers! Well, not since Victorian times, at least.)
However the new report suggests that much less than 23 indigenous workers are displaced.
This is the report that is being withheld.
Do you understand now?

Oh, I realise that as soon as you are aware that you are losing the argument you'll all be crying for me to be chucked off the forum!
That'll leave the idiots to run the asylum then.

Oh no. He's back! And as offensive as ever.

Pot, kettle, black.

There's more:
Although the estimated figure for the so-called "displacement" of British workers has not been disclosed, our political editor Nick Robinson said he understood it was "virtually negligible".
UKIP and other doomsayers should adopt the slogan: "Divided we stand, United we fall"

What is it with some GD posters? Do they have this magical, innate ability to somehow screen out the words that they disagree with, when they are reading, leaving them with a distorted impression of the significance of the article?

You make stupid and inaccurate statements (this one is one of many), based on your disjointed perception of reality and when I point out your fallability, you accuse me of trolling. (Although I must admit I am enjoying myself. )

For instance:
As much as the Brussels mandarins would like it, we can't continue to admit immigrants on this scale. You can see that, I can see it, why can't our glorious leaders see it?

Our glorious leaders can see that the Report goes against what they wanted to see (and what you et al wanted to see), so they withhold it. Except that their withholding the evidence is now common knowledge.

Whta's your problem, that the Report doesn't report what you hoped, or that the Government are withholding it?
Or are you an "undecided"?

The mind boggles.

Of course, The UK has hospital beds, school places, housing (private and social), jobs, GPs, hospital consultants, and space on the roads - aplenty.

What fools we were to have thought that inviting millions more people to share in our good fortune would cause any shortages at all?

Undoubtably, that government report will be 100% accurate, won't it? But even if it only finds that only 20 Brits are 'displaced' (nice, clinical, government-speak term for on the scrapheap), surely that's a tragedy for those hundreds of thousands who have been sold down the river by their own politicians?

P.S. Don't feed le troll

................

Undoubtably, that government report will be 100% accurate, won't it?

Here comes another one. Alright, if you insist, jump in the pot, chicken.

That Government Report that you refer to is an amalgamation of loads of other studies (the article calls it "A study of studies").
So now your theory of unemployment is blown out of the water, you want to widen the discussion to include hospital beds, school places, etc. Well, who do you think is paying for these social niceties.
It stands to reason that if an indigenous worker pays for their and their family's social upkeep (hospital beds, school places, etc) and more, then the migrants are doing exactly the same.

It occurs to me that Joe hardly ever posts these days and, when he does, he seems to be contributing sensibly, which I very much welcome.

Perhaps I was wrong earlier when I thought this new troll was Joe in disguise. I suppose he could be a completely different replacement troll, now Joe is posting valuable contributions.

I wonder whether there is some obscure rule (possibly from Brussels) that every discussion forum must have at least one troll on its books for the sake of 'diversity'!

I thought you'd decided that I was a re-incarnation, i.e. not new:
Oh no. He's back! And as offensive as ever.
You even manage to get youself all mixed up without anyone else's input.

What an excellent idea!

Previously the government ministers used to say that for every 100 migrants, 23 indigenous workers were displaced. (that means they were unemployed as a result of the migrants,

So your saying , as a direct result of immigration, 23 UK workers were either sacked or made redundant ??
I perhaps look at this far to simplistically.. If 100 immigrants come here and get 100 jobs, then they've actually caused 100 Brits to remain unemployed. They've not caused 23 to lose their jobs, nor have they kept only 23 on the dole.
Anyway,, that's by the by now as Cameron has decided that even 23 is far too high a figure (the one his civil servants have arrived at) The report is now being delayed, until the correct figures can be worked out ( what they really mean is, the report has been delayed until the true figures have been massaged, to appease the voting public) ;) ;)

It could also be Joe's way of circumventing the troll issue. By creating this new persona, he can continue his old style of posting (thinly disguised abuse etc) ;) ;)

It's not me mate, it's Red Herring come back to haunt us.

Sorry, Joe, I can't stop to reminisce. I have to go out now. Still blowing my own horn!

I see the idiots are still running the asylum though.
