Of course a country that gets more of it's gas from a group of other nearby countries than it produces itself is finding out that it doesn't have as much clout as its traitors led some people to believe it would have...

The UK-Belgium interconnector (IUK) which runs between Bacton in Norfolk and Zeebrugge in Belgium
The UK-Netherlands pipeline (BBL) which runs from Balgzand to Bacton in Norfolk
The Vesterled pipeline link which connects St Fergus in Scotland to a number of Norweigan gasfields
The Langeled pipeline which runs from Nyhamna in Norway to Easington in Yorkshire

When did Norway join the EU?

here's little in the agreement that I can see that suggests Canada would be bound by EU law or rules on these matters

Simples:

1 Canada only does 1/10 of UK trade with EU
2 Canada deal is not tariff free
3 Canada doesn't want access to SM financial services
4 Canada is trustworthy unlike UK which breaks international agreements

detail.....not something Brexers deal in

But it's not a new chapter, numerous countries already have such a deal with the EU.

That is true

EU has more leverage than UK so it can hold out for the deal it wants.

Like Merkel said: it would be better to have a no deal now than accept a deal not in the EUs best interests.

No good you grizzling, its best you get with the programme

I wonder if Boris enjoyed his fish supper.

They probably said "have as much as you want, we will be getting loads more for years to come.....all from just off the UK coastline"

EEA

Same rules and a 'nearby country'...

Jeez, some people are really thick!

They are not a member of the EU, fact, end of. Come to think of it I don't think they've ever invaded the Ukraine either.

We have a bigger GDP than the Other EEA countries combined.
This lit country......

And liquefied gas tankers from I have no idea where that use Milford Haven which is tanked and run via a pipe to I know not were inland. ;) Maybe it's a Tory sop for the USA

Our USA ambassador talking about Tory visitors. " They ignore the new lot that won the election and spend all of their time visiting various right wing think tanks" Not verbatum as he didn't come from Brum but that is what he said adding "What a great way to enhance relations with the new administration" as well.

The new administration will know that and their aim seems to be to try and sort out the USA's economics before making any trade deal with anyone.

Various Senators of both parties feel that their country is subsidising USA drug company prices as they are sold cheaper elsewhere - including here.

Boris has said that if no deal at all they will sort one out in the next few MONTHS.:ROFLMAO::confused: adding don't worry.

Bit of a row, it seems.

"The prime minister flew back to London late on Wednesday night with allies saying that there had not been “much of a glimmer of progress” during talks at the commission headquarters.

Ms von der Leyen said after the meeting that the two leaders had had “a lively and interesting discussion” and “gained a clear understanding of each other’s positions”, but she acknowledged that “they remain far apart”."
