It must be very embarrassing having to negotiate with foreigners in order to get their permission to move stuff from one part of your country to another.

It was a lot easier years ago when Britain owned lots of countries, if circumstances demanded , Britain could always flog one the countries in the imperial portfolio to some other country or interested party.
Nowadays ,as Britain is now reduced to just one country it has had to resort to flogging off parts of its own territory .

An embarrassment knowingly and willingly entered into by people who wanted to take back control.

I see the tail is shaking the dog again.
Ahead of a meeting with European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, Mr Poots pledged to be "respectful but forceful" and reiterated that did not want permanent infrastructure related to the protocol to be built.

UK cannot comply with introducing the border inspections, required for the NI Protocol, because Poots refuses to allow the infrastructure to be built.

Johnson was happy to throw NI under a bus -it enabled brexit which enable him becoming PM.

David Frost is only a puppet -all he does is maintain the lies, a bit like a North Korea general

I wasnt aware that permission from the leader of the DUP was required.

He's the elected rep for that area, and the now the leader of the DUP, and also the Agricultural Minister, so I suppose he has a lot of clout.
He was the main person responsible for the total load of nonsense around the withdrawing the workforce from the docks due to concern about violence. He started the rumour, then acted on it and persuaded others to act on it, but the police deny any evidence of his rumoured concerns.

He may do.

But I doubt he has any veto over the construction of security, customs, and import/export regulations enforcement infrastructure on an international border between the UK and a foreign nation.

Can he be charged with any incitement offence?

I also doubt he has any official control or veto over the building of the infrastructure. But he appears to think he has some control:

No idea, but the whole shambolic episode looked like one man starting a rumour then encouraging everyone to act on a rumour he'd heard.

Apparently we couldn't also sell wonky bananas...

But then that's brexit for you

Nor do I, but....

Saying that he doesnt want it isnt the same as refusing to allow it.

I hope when Poots meets Sefcovic he gives him a punch on the nose for Ulster.
