Although in my opinion that was rather overstating the case.
My question is this:
Do religious types like breadnbutter feel the same emotional attachment to their deity as we more earthly types do with our human lovers? Is the same bit of brain involved in each case?

I'm with you on this JBR but i really think you should change your signature to read "primitive people of planet Earth"
I think you're right but, as we all know, Lankies are the most primitive of us all (except for the Welsh, of course). We've got to start somewhere and the Lankies are the ones benefiting from my presence at the moment.
You do have a valid point there, so in light of this, you do what you can up there and i'll do what i can down here in my neck of the woods, but i'm afraid we may to late with the Welsh, centuries of running up and down hills chasing sheep has taken its toll, but being the man i am, i shall venture forth and do what i can with the Welsh Fillies!!

Watched Red Nose Day on TV last night and the plight of those poor children on Africa. IF ever you need evidence of the NON existence of a caring God then this program shows it.
If this is what a caring God allows to happen to HIS people, then I want absolutely nothing to do with him. It confirms that a God of any form just does not exist.
I am sure Breadnbutter will have some ridiculous excuse for what is happening in Africa, no matter what the excuse is it is abhorrent in it's extreme.
We may be to blame for a lot of this suffering by interfering with what evolution does to limit population when we gave money from Live Aid 20 years ago, only to make the problem 10 times worse now.
Interfere with evolution and this is what you produce.

On the subject, if memory serves me correctly, after the big flood that apparently covered the whole planet Earth, some 4,300 years ago, big "G" made a promise that he would never, as i understand, murder his children again in this way, he even put a rainbow in the sky to prove his point.
My question is how many people die every year in floods and tsunamis around the world??

Joe - There is NO God to give man anything, man has always done what he wants, as has ALL of the animals and insects of this world. Man is no different.
Your comment is the stock answer for the God Botherers who can't answer the many questions posed by their religion.
When you can't answer just say its God's Will.
Now what sort of evidence is that.
