I beg to differ. We got a new car in July. We essentially picked the quickest delivery, which turned out to be a couple of weeks as the car was already built and in the country.The chip shortage ended last year. The busses have been electrified fairly heavily. Second hand prices have dropped back to a more sensible level and new car supply is plentiful.
In short: you're way out of date.
The next quickest would have been October.
Most dealers were still blaming component shortages for the lack of availability and long lead times. The slowest was Skoda and Vauxhall, who gave us lead times of at least 18 months!
I'm still seeing silly prices in Autotrader too.
