Purely hypothetically joe. Suppose an identical or similar incident happens in the near future and the driver is maimed or killed. Would you be happy to concede that you would then be proven to be in error?

In a re-run of the accident - it would have the same result.

Anyway, the question involved asking "if" evidence emerged that subsequently proved you wrong, would you accept that you were wrong?

So your reasoning is that this particular accident happened due to an exact set of conditions (deterministic), the end result was that the driver walked away. Therefore he can't have been in danger.

However, if any of the parameters changed (I did include the word "similar" in my initial post), then you can't be certain that he would still not be in any danger.

So, apart from stating the bleeding obvious with the benefit of observed hindsight, what's your point?

My point is that though the accident was spectacular, it was fairly innocuous as there was nothing in the way. He simply slowed down to stop in the tyre wall. What's your point? We are talking about THIS accident - no other.

Mark Webber seems to think he had a lucky escape. When talking about it later when interviewed.

Webber said: "I'm happy. I was just having a shower and thinking, 'Mate, you're lucky to be in one piece.'

And he's not the only one that thinks that.

So, if you had seen footages of several accidents without knowing their outcomes, you would have have been able to pick this as one in which you "know" that the driver would be entirely unscathed? And presumably (conversely) you'd be able to pick those in which the drivers were seriously injured?

One heck of a claim that joe. Can you predict the lottery numbers this weeked for me while you're in such a prophetic mood?

Like I've said, with the benefit of hindsight, having observed the event and the outcome, he was shown to be safe. Therefore he was safe.

It's not as though there were loose wheels flying around and he was lucky enough to miss them all.
