It is the hypocrisy of the Beeb that gets me, I couldn't care less at someone mocking the flag or laughing at the ridiculousness of having the queens portrait hanging up on their wall. But just imagine for one second (as bodd points out) the outrage if the beeb interviewing a muslim or indian family and had then went on to make skitty remarks about about items of their culture they may of had in their homes. They would probably be down the cop shop on hate related charges.

I haven't seen any of the comments, but I can differentiate between 'someone mocking the flag', and 'someone mocking the size of the flag'.
Additionally, the use of the flag as some pretence for 'patriotism' even though one's actions are not patriotic is obvious.
The adoption of certain flags by such organisations as National Front, etc, is testament to that exploitation of symbolism for perverted intentions.

Of course they were, the male presenter was clearly having a dig at the Union Jack being displayed and she was sitting there giggling and then went on to comment at the display of the queens portrait.
I see nothing wrong in any government minister from anywhere in the world displaying some props in the back ground of the country he represents, it is not a news organisations place to start poking fun, would the bbc have done that to any other nation ?
