Dont talk ****

So the fact that someones drunk (which he probably was given that he had only just finished work, warrents a reaction like that does it?

If it mean's clearing the obstruction for the forward movement of the police line then imo YES.
It's not 1960 any more where a bobby might have said "please sir could you move aside".

The thing is, he was most likely not treated any more harshly than plenty of others on that day. Things have kicked off because he died a few minutes later; however, the plod actions by themselves are unlikely to have been the reason for his demise.

No I know...its what goes on at football matches all over the country on Saturday afternoons..this thime the TSG didnt get away with it.

Now he has had a 'suspected' heart attack

How long before he gets pensioned off on 'health grounds'

With the TSG it batons first questions after..they do this job because they enjoy the buzz, theres no other reason why they would (apart from the overtime)

He has had to hold his hands up because e got caught..nothing to do with conscience..but probably from his colleagues who refuse to take the wrap for him, he knew he had done wrong, did you notice how quick he made himself scarce?

The officers from the City of London Police didnt look too impressed when it happened either..they probably knew Tomlinson..ok the City of London police are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard, they look good for the tourists but thats about it...but it seems they have a better perception of right and wrong than the TSG

Who are not much different from the rent-a-riot clastafarians who also hide their faces when they are doing something wrong

The trouble is, no one really knows - yet - what went on with him up to that point. It was, seemingly, an over-reaction by the OB, at that particular point in time, but given that he was goading them over an hour earlier, what else went on in the interim?

One thing that is clear is that this was no innocent bystander, head down heading for home, as was first suggested. Granted, plod have not covered themselves with glory on this occasion, though.

I wonder after these demos how many police end up on pensions with the medical additions because being caught on camera thumping some defenceless demonstrater is worth many thousands of pounds on a retirement package for them.

latest allegation:

The Metropolitan police yesterday promised a full inquiry into ALLEGATIONS that one of their officers was spotted behaving ‘proportionately’ during the G20 protests.

Despite initial denials, 90 seconds of grainy footage has appeared showing an officer in FULL RIOT GEAR simply standing opposite a group of protesters. Throughout the film, the burly officer fails to CONCEAL his FACE and his BADGE NUMBERS remain fully visible. Not reaching for his BATON, despite verbal provocation, he shockingly does not BRUTALLY ATTACK any scrawny hippies or even SLAP or ROUGHLY PUSH around a single lentil-munching soap-dodger.

Jacqui Smith, Home Secretary, demanded the officer’s immediate suspension, saying the footage “raised serious questions” and was a “shocking breach of standard police procedure”.

A senior Met bigwig has defended the officer claiming it was ‘an isolated incident’, and saying, “Our officers train hard to develop their basic stony-faced aggressive posture, public communication failure techniques and intimidation skills. In almost all cases they look to escalate confrontations with protesters and enjoy the free license to let the uniform and position of power go to their heads, letting off steam by directing their internal anger and frustration at defenceless hippies who no-one in the mainstream press gave a toss about until now. "But, in the heat of the moment - they are only human after all! Things can get of hand and reasonableness and decency can flare up. However, I accept in this case it appears this one officer apparently acted out of character and used seemingly proportionate force. "However, we should be wary of drawing too many conclusions from video evidence taken out of context – after all the officer involved might have just clubbed someone to the ground and was taking a breather just as the camera started recording.

"Obviously we don’t want the hard fought reputation of our loyal officers to be tarred with this kind of non-representative brush with the law – a few good apples can spoil the whole rotten barrel. We will now review our procedures for clamping down on people with video cameras to make sure this kind of embarrassing situation does not occur again.”

Ian Tomlinson died of an abdominal haemorrhage and not a heart attack, a second post-mortem has shown.

This throw's a different light on the matter.
Why? How would a baton on the legs and a shove in the back lead to that? His history of being a p*ss-head would have no bearing on that, of course.

Next week, terminal cancer sufferer gets bopped on the head by an OB shield at a demo

Of course the fact that he fell on his abdomen after being pushed from behind would have no bearing on what caused the injury?... ;)

He had his hands out.

If he was going to die from that he was not long for this world anyway.

That shove was not that hard. Ronaldo would probably have gone down, but most people wouldn't.

If he'd cracked him over the head with his baton and he dies of an internal head bleed, I could understand the furore, but not for what actually went on.

Nice to know you moonlight as a pathologist...were you the first one?

Get real, he was a p*sshead, he was getting under their feet at least an hour beforehand, he got pushed out of the way and by an adverse combination of circumstances he pegged it. Sh*t happens, doesn't make it plod's fault.

And he had a 'heart attack' right...

Some people are stupidly gullible...

;)
