Recidivists was first use in the English language in 1880, gives you a clue but you can google all the same.

I know alot in the trade and although some struggle in this current economic crisis it's not the norm,

It's a cop-out to claim there is no work for these trades.

Certainly no "Cop out". The first industry to be affected by recession is the construction industry. It's also the last to come out of recession. Of course , it doesn't help when construction companies would rather underpay Eastern Europeans.

Can't deny the construction industry have been hit hard all the same work is out there and let's face it we don't live a life in recession, do we..? If you have no trade to fall back...

Better to have a trade than not, I say.

I guess you read what you want and add what you feel sounds good to support your agenda? Maybe you should read my last post..

I don't see your problem to be honest, you haven't come up with any alternative. I would rather see crims come out of jail in a possition where they have a better chance to find work than nothing at all.

Even if you beat them half to death and lock them in a small room for their whole sentence they will get out, in this instance get out very angry and ****ed at the world. Bigger problem..?

So you admit the construction industry has been"hit hard", but the work is out there?

Well one must assume that the work that is "Out there", is few and far between.

Hypothetically, who would you rather employ,,,, Some time served 50 yr old who's currently unemployed, or some scummy chav, just out of prison with his NVQ level 2 in brickwork and a list of offences longer than his 6ft spirit level?

Answers on a postcard to HMP Manchester.
;) ;)

A conviction would not be the issue for me. As a society I wouldn't expect people to whine about these criminal if you are not prepared to give them a chance, no chance would defeat the object of rehabilitation and reintergration into society.

You don't give people a chance, you start the whole cycle of reoffending all over again and give an excuse for the offending...

You go to Uni - you come out with a debt of £27k. You go to prison and come out with no debt at all. That should be the other way around. Every prisoner should come out with the debt of their keep.

No work out there in the industry you referred to but suggest all is fine.

As for scumbags coming out of prison all ****ed off and angry and likely to cause troublee - there is a solution.

They were given the same chance as everyone else. Unfortunately they chose a different path. Yet again you infer it's not their fault.

Total nonsense.
