Has Truss resigned yet?

Truss actually apologised for her actions on the BBC - last night by the sounds of it. She did what she said - take no notice of the treasury etc. One commentator reckons she missed out on her true calling - an ideal Japanese kamikaze pilot.

Seems Hunt has asked departments to come up with savings within 1 week.

The shift in USD GBP is small as is the drop in gov borrowing rates.

I wonder about a more thoughtful comment from a Tory MP. Leadership shifts to Hunt and Sunak but he wonders about which way round. Salary probably wont attract Sunak. That does drive some also power. That sort of set up may placate the party. He also feels Hunt wont need to make deals so can pick his cabinet with more thought. Sunak ????

I'm wondering if we will see some taxation increases. Looks like that or serious cuts to me.

Okay, I’ll bite, show me my tongue in cheek post that you are jumping on to try to make something of it. Go on, show us all your desperation.
It has been explained to you.

It demonstrates a closed question. Fixed parameters. Even if the answer is wrong it can only be that answer.

It is a classic response to such a question. But honestly I think you knew that. I really hope you did

In reality, if Tory MP's had backed Truss/Kwarteng and hadn't soiled their pants (wonder why they did?) then no-one would be commenting on the mini-budget now. No-one would have been breathlessly shouting on a minute-by-minute basis about the 'pound in freefall'.

Apart from economists, business people, the Bank of England, world leaders, anyone with a mortgage, and people who recognise an incompetent idiot when they see one.

I see mottie and the wally are not (quite) alone.

"Live news updates: YouGov poll finds 10% of Britons hold favourable opinion of Liz Truss"

Edit for text

"Truss most unpopular leader ‘by some distance’, poll finds

One in 10 UK voters hold a favourable opinion of Liz Truss after about six weeks as prime minister, becoming the most unpopular leader “by some distance” tracked by YouGov."

"In a separate YouGov poll, conducted over the past two days among 530 Conservative party members, 55 per cent say Truss should resign."

I simply pointed out that your post is untrue.

Which it is.

I did not speculate on your motives for saying things that are not true.

Nonsense.
The reaction was immediate, quite appropriately.

The nation's less well off are under pressure
The simple act of cutting the top rate of tax was enough for many to call, "Are you out of your F' ing mind?".

1) it was without any adequate reason
2) it looked incredibly offensive - the optics. She should have known that in advance.

That and the rest showed she is not an appropriate person to be PM.
It doesn't matter what she does now. She did something bad enough to prove she can't be trusted.
You don't let someone who's crashed your car, have another go.

Anyway, the pantomime is over, welcome to a few more years of completely unnecessary, ideologically driven austerity.
Ideologically, or financially?

So what's your alternative?
Do you have anything to contribute?
Which would not include accusing everyone else all the time while trying to imply some superior state of knowledge..?
