Having had the good fortune to have been widely travelled, I have the ability to realise that the western way of life is as despised in certain places as much as the west appears to despise their enemies...

I have travelled widely too and the main concensus of opinion is that Islam is not the faith of peace, having read the carp book Koran that advocates death to non Muslims, yet many of the faith still want to live the Western ideal way

I believe if someone was to conduct a world survey about opinions of islam, all but islamic states would agree that it is most certainly not 'the religion of peace'. Unlike other religions, islam is the only one that dictates to its followers that they should follow the rules laid down in a document that is one-and-a-half thousand years old. Even the bible, which is considerably older, has been re-interpreted by Christians over the years in order to move with the times.

Until the ignorance is lifted on all sides, this conflict will go on...

Until Islam gets into the 21st century, nothing will change.

I think it would be nice if they could drag themselves into the 19th century.

I agree that "bombing the hell out " could apply to the blanket bombing of towns in Germany but in those towns were hundreds of small work shops producing items vital to the German war effort. Hundreds of small work shops instead of a few large factories which would have been easy to hit targets.

What is you opinion of those who "bombed the hell" out of the World Trade Centre ?

Funnily enough even the US military accept that there was in excess of 100,000 civilian deaths in the Iraq war...

Of course the figure is anywhere up to 600,000 depending on whose figures you believe...

If that's not 'bombing the hell' out of a country, then you are seriously deluded...

But I guess the blitz (40,000 dead) was also just a mere inconvenience in your world

A surgical strike takes out a few known and active opponents !

Plunging an aircraft full of fuel and innocent non combatants into a building full of innocent non combatants and killing several thousand of those innocent non combatants is in no way a precise surgical strike.

Hitting a single armed vehicle leaving a building that is known to be a control centre manned by terrorists is a precise surgical attack.
