how would you uphold law and order?

There seems to be a large number of people on here who seem to dislike, distrust, despise the police. So i just wondered what their preferred alternative method of managing crime would be?

that's kinda what i meant.... if we did sack the police... would these people just take their chances with the massive increase in crime? or join in and become a crim.... buy a gun? employ private security guards?

yeah but you're dealing with humans... by definition they're selfish and greedy as well as all their other traits... so you're always likely to get a bad apple.

I would force all the crims to smoke pot every morning , that way they would all be too lethargic to commit a crime.
Two birds with one stone , no more drug problems in the uk and no more crime.
Just lots of brain numbed ex criminals running around helping little old ladies across roads and eating doughnuts.
See , also inadvertently tackling obesity with the same stick, if the3 crims eat all the cakes there will be none left for the fattys.
