Is there a god?

People's actions cannot be used fairly as an excuse to reject God. God will not buy that one. God is good, perfect, just, merciful, loving and fair. If someone does something against His will but in His name, we cannot hold that against God. And in the end, He won't allow us to.

Thats true, norcon,well done bro

And the unimaginable suffering and death of countless children is a wonderful example of his mercy and love?

so the governments of that country are not responsible then. God has given us this earth to look after. its our responsibility. Its mans sinful actions that course the suffering.

The towering intellect that is joe90 cannot tell us "what it is" and has to rely on the logic that it must be "something" and for want of a better word, we can call that something god.

Staggeringly brilliantly in it's simplicity...........................I wonder why

joe is right our minds cannot contain the greatness of God

God is UNCREATED without origin or beginning.
He is SELF-EXISTANT - the ground of His existence is in Himself. He has Life within Himself. His Name is I AM THAT I AM. (Exodus 3:14)
God doesn't just exist - HE IS EXISTANCE.
God is the Absolute Source and First Cause of all life and existence.

What is interesting is that Joe and B&B demonstrate nicely the beauty of religion and almost certainly the reason it began. In times when almost no details were known about our physical world it would have been essential for leaders to confidently explain things they knew nothing about. It wasn't necessary to be accurate or in any way proveable. All that was necessary was to make it seem like you knew the truth and completely believed what you were saying. Not that difficult to achieve given the average intelligence of the audience and the fact that dissenters would be horribly tortured and killed off.

The truth speaks for itself - every time I post it.

Prove the logic wrong if you can (he won't).

You have no logic to prove, as you are illogical, and you are simply trolling as usual.

The universe started with a "Big Bang", which was a singularity. There was no time, it was infinitesimally small. Space-time existed from the point after the big bang. Science currently knows 10^-45 secs after the big bang, but this will no doubt change in the future.

It could be that the universe existed as a large single particle before the big bang, but that is just current speculation, as there was no time before the big bang. In a way, relativity disallows the existence of God. The idea of a diety being involved is irrational, and flies in the face of every discovery we have made thus far.

Remember that Newtonian physics cannot explain the Sun's nuclear fusion, or relativity, but we have since learned about these things. They are not divine, and our computers would not exist if we had stopped following scientific enquiry when we discovered Newtons equations. Bascially scinece is constantly backing God into a corner, which is getting smaller each year.

What we discover in the future we don't know (future projects look like they will discover some amazing stuff), but there has never been a better time to be alive for witnessing new discoveries. But there is zero evidence for anything God related. The universe is written in the language of maths, not emotion or scriptures.

I had expected you to quote "suffer the little children that come unto me" but also that you would blame "man"
so your gods hurricanes, famines, fires and floods. Why?

sin is the root course of the world problems.

To carry on from ajstones point, what about those poor kids in america who just got killed by that huge tornado? Was that one of his righteous judgements as well?

Don't tell me, he moves in mysterious ways.

Why don't you all argue the toss with Einstein?

"Your question [about God] is the most difficult in the world. It is not a question I can answer simply with yes or no. I am not an Atheist. I do not know if I can define myself as a Pantheist. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. May I not reply with a parable? The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe. We are in the position of a little child, entering a huge library whose walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written those books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books, a mysterious order, which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of the human mind, even the greatest and most cultured, toward God. We see a universe marvelously arranged, obeying certain laws, but we understand the laws only dimly. Our limited minds cannot grasp the mysterious force that sways the constellations. I am fascinated by Spinoza's Pantheism. I admire even more his contributions to modern thought. Spinoza is the greatest of modern philosophers, because he is the first philosopher who deals with the soul and the body as one, not as two separate things.[19]"

no,its becuase there buildings are in a place known for build up of tornados.
they had a large tornado there in 1999, they were asked why do you re build in the area, they said its part of life, and we accept this happens from time to time. so whos putting there lives at risk.

its not Gods judgement, its the weather system.

Science is backing God in a corner. using Gods materials to try and disprove God more like.
there is nothing wrong in doing science,i mean even God created science.God gave man intelligence to discover, and the freedom to do so.
What you will discover in the future, is that Jesus will return. and that time is very near.
