earth is flat and round both at the same time, depends how you look at it and where you look at it from, it is all relative, if you observe earth standing on it, it appears flat, if you go up in space it would appear round, so how can we generalise.
Edit: If someone came down from space and told us that our earth is round, and if we continue to sail around the globe we won't tip over the edge! Earth does look round even when you are standing on its surface, the horizon reveals it all, it curves all around you, so as I said depends how you pay attention when observing.
Besides, every individual pays different attention and sees thing differently, it is same as if you hang a painting on a wall so ****ed that you do not see how that it is not in a perfect level, but someone else comes along and points to you that your painting is not level, and you might argue with him until he gets his spirit level out to prove.
