Japanese Tsunami

Yeah, blowing up pubs was one favourite passtime I believe

Well if it was full of people mocking other peoples plight then no big loss eh?
Why do you think the english are hated through out the world?

No I believe they were just full of people having a normal day, being sociable, that sort of stuff...till the paddy's came calling.

Why do you think the english are hated through out the world?

I know why the japs are. Do you?
After what they unleashed on the world not so long ago, a few jokes at their expense at this terrible time of national tragedy is only to be expected. Having said that I wish those poor people all the best, things there are desperate beyond belief.

I'm well aware of that. You might have noticed I used the term "if".

In any case thats what the Irish were doing in Ireland when the English came calling.
I've no doubt english men were quipping jokes to each other in pubs with bloated bellies as Irish men ,women and children lay dying in the fields from the patotato famine.
Using a ww2 reference as justification to mock peoples plight is lame to say the least.

If you had a brain you would realise that most Englishmen at that time were far to busy being just as exploited by the ruling class to be spending time in pubs.

It wasn't a "justification", but it's certainly a reason.
Besides no one knows how to keep digging up past injustices better than an Irishman. You're potato famine remark being just one example.

If you had half a brain you would know the english still rule in a part of Ireland so they have every right to drag up past and recent injustices imo.
Maybe they will start blowing up pubs again if they don't soon get out.

This seems to show that the majority of people living there TODAY prefer to stay as they are.

I'm sure they will, I suppose you'll be one of the ones putting their hands in their pocket whenever the tin comes around.

I had great sympathy for the indonesians caught up in the tsunami because they are a gentle peace loving people.

apart from the pirates and smugglers of course.

Can't you understand I'm generalising, and I'm sure every other type of criminal is present in the indonesian race. But unlike the japanese they are not brought up to despise all other nations and peoples as part of the national personna. They still refuse to apolgise for their horrific and inhumane war crimes because it would hurt their national 'pride'.

And before anyone mentions Hiroshima or Nagasaki, they got all they deserved.

As someone who's worked in many foreign countries that is absolutey wrong, the English are very highly respected. The honour of being the most hated sits with firmly the americans. And probably always will due to their insular attitudes, a bit like the irish.

Always makes me laugh when the Irish winge about the potato famine. You were being abused by the rulling classes not ordinary English subjects who were also starving, living in hovels and generally treated worse then dogs.

Half my family are Irish but I've only ever heard the potato famine nonsense from the dickh***s in the USA.

Thats at odds with my experience but there you go.
I'm not Irish btw. To have that nationality bestowed upon me would be an honour indeed.

i can understand it, i just found it pointless and a bit naive.

I've googled Japan to get a insight into what part they had to play in the World War, theres a lot about raping women, killing chinese, etc.

Just wondering if anyone on here knows much about the part of history they played and what was their motive etc.
