Came home one night, 10 parts gone to the wind and decided to play around with the new camcorder. Just played along to a track.....

I was actually in a band for years in my youth though.........

I know i shouldn't muck about posting rubbish on Utube but I had a free hour this afternoon and started messing with 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac. It's just posted to keep Esra/Mega happy. Dunno how long I'll leave them before I pull them.

I know I said earlier your vocals were the weak point of your performance, but i've just listened to that and re-listened to the other two and there's actually a sorta-nice relaxed quality to your voice. I think if you were professionally belting out the lyrics it'd detract from the playing.

And now a request - how about some R.E.M.? Anything would do, but "Losing my Religion" or "Man on the Moon" would be fantastic...

Yes you are absolutely brilliant so sit in front of your webcam and give us more. That's the name of the challenge. As Tim has said it's a far different world to play into an 8 track than to sit in front of a webcam with just a guitar. You don't need to include a face shot so you have no excuse.
When we all see how wonderful you are you will earn the right to say that I'm rubbish - and I'll certainly agree with you - but until that time it just looks like sour grapes. Come on it's just a bit of fun, I'm a builder not a pro entertainer.

Joe it is not sour grapes mate, I dont think you are rubbish at all, I have not said that. I give you full credit for posting yourself on youtube for us all to see, take my hat off to you for doing that.

I am just not the type of person who wants to do that, whether its not having the balls i dont know, but its a little unfair that you do not believe that it is me singing and playing when I can asure you it is, I even wrote the song I sang

The 8 track might make it sound a little better yes, but I still have to sing and play guitar. I know it is a bit of fun, I'm a police officer not an entertainer!

I think we can both agree though that we have set a benchmark......well I think so anyway

I'm still working on Desperado acoustic so I will post it when its finished.....and I have some time!

Whether I believe it is you or your mate or if you've used pitch correction software doesn't come into it. What I was asking for is a level playing field. I sit in front of a cheap webcam and play a song I don't even know the words to (I read them as I play). On average I spend an hour on each song - which includes working out the chords. You want to bring in your mate, use an 8 track deck with good mikes and the facility to record, re-record, and edit; to have adjustments on tone and balance and spend a week doing it.

I can't match your setup but you have a webcam. Therefore, if you want to compete you have to sit in front of it like I do (no need for a face shot) and play like you were at an open mike session down at the local pub.
I'm only asking for parity.
