Precisely, as the link that Notch7 added, there was an economic aspect to slavery, as well as the cultural and ideological aspects.If black people sold slaves to white people, would that be classed as racism by the black people?
That's something rarely talked about in the slave trade debate. These traders weren't sailing to Africa and buying slaves from Supermarkets run by white people, black people were being sold for a pinch of salt by black people.
It's important to acknowledge all 3 aspects, not single out any one, to try to dilute the anti-racism movement.
