32mm earthed steel conduit and 25mm split concentric cable is the proper way to do this job.
Does he not mean 32mm diameter (quite possibly with 3mm thick walls)?I think you mean 3mm. steel?
Jesus.
The house is getting a full re wire which I will get signed off as unfortunately I’m not part p even though I can test.
Probably not regarded by some as 'ideal' but, yes, 'allowed' ...are parallel cables slowed here. So mains earth is 16mm but can I run 2x 10mm. where I was this was allowed but if it’s not here I won’t do it.
Notification to the Building Control and their fee should be done before you start - or get a registered electrician to do it.Hi guys just a question regarding this part p and notifiable works.
so I have done pretty much a full rewire (re used some existing black and red). And moved the switchboard, and bathroom work.
this is notifiable work, I’ve not completed it yet but should do next week ready for plaster. What are my options with notifying.
That might have been fine had you notified it at the proper time.I’m not registered with anybody although I am qualified and able to test. And it’s all to standards.
They should supervise the work so it depends how far along you are. Definitely before plastering. If I have to get a third party in will they want/need to see the work before plaster? Or would they just do a full test.
No.can I do all the work and test then get it signed off?
It is acceptable, but you should have notified it before starting.I’m confused because It makes no sense that being a electrician It’s not acceptable to work on my own house without getting someone else to sign my work off.
Unfortunately, strictly speaking you have more-or-less run out of normal options ...... so I have done pretty much a full rewire (re used some existing black and red). And moved the switchboard, and bathroom work. this is notifiable work, I’ve not completed it yet but should do next week ready for plaster.
What are my options with notifying.
