Do you think a National charity with possible financial difficulties should be prioritising national efforts or international efforts?
1/5th of their budget is spent on international efforts.

This is work that should be done by others.

and how many should we take via these additional legal routes? 100k, 1M, 20M?

The ones who meet the "criteria". The vast majority of boat people (admittedly most people haven't yet been assessed because the government are too slow) are allowed to stay. If they were allowed to apply from elsewhere then the boat traffic would fall significantly and wouldn't be a money making scheme for criminals.

The overall numbers granted asylum can stay the same, but the boat numbers would reduce. It isn't rocket science.

a number please, if you have one?

interesting given that France rejects 75% of applicants. Yet you want to open the door wider in the UK?

So how many would be allowed per year? Given the cost of a ticket on a small boat and the risk of drowning and prosecution, do you think the 'apply online' option would increase those coming by 5x 10x or 100x?

Given we spend £5bn a year, what do you think the cost might be?

@Brigadier Where do you think this is?

these are all in your head.

There is a hotspot in the channel and it's the RNLIs most expensive vessels being regularly tasked.

I said all are illegal immigrants not all are arrested. The current strategy is to prosecute those suspected of piloting the boat. if there is evidence to convict they are charged withs s25, if not s24. All are guilty of s24 offence - illegal entry.
They are not in my head. They are all things you've said. I can go back and link every one if you disagree.

Everybody but you and filly can see clearly the hotspot is in the Thames, followed by solent area and Dover area. Immigrants are NOT THE. HOTSPOT no matter how much you try to claim it.

And as for detention and prosecution read post 461 462.

For a supposedly legal person you are misleading at best, and downright incorrect at worst. Which is it ?

You are part of the problem, by avoiding accepting where the problem and the responsibility lies
