It was until it wasn’tAre you suggesting the Titanic wasn’t seaworthy ?

How long have the RNLI been going? It's not my problem, so I'm not paying for it. You take up the shortfall in donations if you feel that strongly about it.
I'm not saying I blame the RNLI, they operate to a code, I'm just saying I ain't going to ******g pay for it.
How long have the RNLI been going?
How many lives have they saved?
How many different nationalities of people have they plucked from the water over that time?
They won't discriminate.
People withholding charity could do harm. Wouldn't it be ironic if, for example, RNLI were unable to launch a boat to rescue a person of a nationality these people do approve of saving?
My opinion is that people who think like this are brainwashed by the likes of the Daily Express or Daily Fail.
Have they got no humanity?
Would they just let people in peril in the water die?
You've missed out the category of person who is happy to call you out as a racist f*cking nut job who hasn't got a clue what you think you are talking about
It came into effect because they realised the mistake of not providing sufficient life boats for an 'unsinkable' boat.Titanic sunk in 1912, the requirement for sufficient lifeboats for everyone on board didn't come into effect till 1914.
Obviously, by 1914 it was on the bottom! So would anything hitting an iceberg of that size and that speed.
Undoubtedly, but the fact remains it was seaworthy in 1912, although it wouldn't have been in in 1914.
It obviously couldn't cope with the conditions it met on its maiden voyage. It sank because someone made a big hole in it.
If I follow the logic (if I can call it that), a vessel that has a very big hole in it that will imminently sink - is seaworthy because it has enough life rafts for everyone.
if I removed all the life rafts from a Shannon class lifeboat, its not seaworthy?
Seaworthiness has nothing to do with emergency equipment and everything to do with its a ability to cope with the sea.
You really expect an honest answer? How long have the RNLI been going?

Time and support in kind over many years, playing fund raising concerts, etc.How much have you given them in the last 25 years?
Anyone who has witnessed ReganandCarter's exploitative racist comments is well aware of his bigotry.Nut job? Oh the irony!!!
So, I'll put you down as a naive, delusional buIIsh!tter. One category obviously isn't enough for you, Elly. Hey, you're not Himmy as well are you??
You need to be careful of both the VAT man and Tampons...... they can both blow up in your face.Anyone who has witnessed ReganandCarter's exploitative racist comments is well aware of his bigotry.
When he expresses concern for asylum seekers, it's like transam expressing concern for VAT on tampons. It's just a convenient handle on which to hang his hatred.
How can an (unchanged) ship be sea worthy one moment but un-seaworthy the next?Seaworthiness has nothing to do with emergency equipment and everything to do with its a ability to cope with the sea.
So factually it wasn't. But as far as current law was concerned and for the sake of certification - it was.but the fact remains it was seaworthy in 1912, although it wouldn't have been in in 1914.
The Conservative government voted against removing VAT on tampons in 2015You need to be careful of both the VAT man and Tampons...... they can both blow up in your face.
It obviously couldn't cope with the conditions it met on its maiden voyage.
The mindset of 'it's unsinkable' may well have caused a degree of lethargy and carelessness among the crew and the captain.
A systemic failure when at sea in difficult conditions.
Then when calamity befell it, it was unseaworthy.
It didn't have sufficent lifeboats because of the unfounded and mistaken belief in its integrity.
A belief in the integrity of a ship alone does not make it seaworthy. Otherwise all the 'inflatable carrier bags' would be deemed sea worthy.
