Navien Combi Boilers

Personally I prefer a boiler where the 3 way valve never ever needs changing, because it doesn't have one, but each to their own...
So do I. I like the Ferroli and the Intergas. But they do not tick all the boxes. Navien has better fluing, and can be fitted outside, and others. So it is a compromise.

Check it out at 2.07 where he says he hates doing repairs on Naviens. Just before the shot of water pizzing out everywhere. :):)
That model is not sold in the UK. Combis are relatively new to the USA.

It sounded to me like there was only one thing he disliked about repairing Naviens. And he was critical of the installer who had not allowed room for servicing the boiler hence possibly the reason for having to drain the heat exchanger onto the floor..

That is what I thought. He talked through his thoughts and how he was to do to the repair.

He was obviously a Muppet. But he definitely implied ALL repairs, and looking at it, I can see why.

Looked like plenty of room around it for servicing, and no need to piddle water on the floor if properly equipped.

hard-work thank you for bring the Navien range of gas boilers to our notice.I  assume you are clued up on this new product, you seem to know the product.

looking at the Uk seller info ie merchants i have some questions. Ie plumbase and similar.

Its not a range of gas boilers really known in the Uk but worth a look,hard-work please can you let us know if there is slot in controls cover available to hide the brassware & condense base trap arrangement below the appliance case. Its looks fugly.

hard-work the expansion vessel is fitted at the rear of the appliance in a harder to access service area, most new boilers have it in the front of the boiler to facilitate servicing.Maybe the navien expansion vessel recharge connector has been relocated hard-work let us know.

i have an issue with the condense trap clean out area which is external to the boiler case the trap can be separated by pulling out one clip finger tight clip hard-work is that allowed in this country where many diy folk like to tamper with gas boilers rather than call in a rgi.

looking at the brasware components (from advertising info) the hydraulic brassware look like giacomoni adapted products with an alfa lavel (china) plate heat exchanger. hard-work if you know the manufacture of the heat engine please let us know.

the fan is similar to some others but just similar thou.

hard-work,its over to you.you brought this product to this forum and i assume you have some financial gain to achieve. hopefully not the opposite.

happy days

Old&Cold, I have nothing financial whatsoever to gain. The biggest combi maker in the world is setting up in the UK which looks like a very good well specced and advanced product in some respects. I put videos up so all can see the product. There is also some loon who will castigate it because they have never heard of them. Take no notice of ghem.

I have seen them on display in Plumbase. At a glance they looked good indeed, not the cheap and nasty Turkish cheap scrap we sometimes see, and very well priced for what they are.

I was wanting feedback from anyone who had fitted/used one. One poster says the hydro block is used in a Baxi and is also eager to fit one. To me the boiler is a game changer with its cheap fluing and able to be installed outside as well. The DHW flowrates look good as well. The sooner Navien up their setup in the UK the better for all.

Once customers know there is an external combi available as next door has one, expect it to sell.

It is 100% the same block as a Baxi. But I’m a Baxi installer and even though they are prone to leak I still rate Baxi as a boiler.

Intergas is the only real boiler that’s pushed things in recent years. Not for me, but still a good bit of kit. They sorted a boiler that was out of warranty for me. Can’t argue with that.

I do think there’s a place for Navien in the UK market. Its not going to push Intergas and Worcester out of the way.

The fact they can stay in the UK for as long as they want given their financial position says they are here for a good while.

I think in a few years we will see them taking off.

If Navien want to take a large chunk of UK market share they will. They have the products, price and backup. Whether they will is yet to be seen.

BTW, Baxi do not make that hydro block do they? I cannot see Navien buying from Baxi.

Dannyboy, nice to see you active. Fantastic.
