Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

No unfortunately the problem is not solved as there are a couple of problems.

1) SOLVED - FLUE OUTSIDE SOLVES ISSUE IF 300 AWAY FROM THE GAS BOILER OUTLET

2) UNSOLVER - SOCKET OBSTRUCTING THE FITTING AND POTENTIAL NEW FITTING OF A COOKER HOOD EXTRACTOR FAN.

3) UNSOLVED - NEIGHBOUR GETTING FUMES FROM COOKING IN HIS BEDROOM DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO FIT DUCKING/CHIMNEY LEADING TO A FLUE OUTSIDE DUE TO ON WALL SOCKET OBSTRUCTION

The wall socket does not appear to obstruct anything , but could easily be swopped for a fused spur .

Thanks so an electrician could move the existing wall socket to the side, away from chimney and replace with a fused spur or just simply move the wall socket itself to away from chimney? Guessing that would leave a hole? How best to seal up the hole and what materials would I need to do this?

The electrician will chase in the new cable and relocate the socket (probably changing it to a fused spur) and reinstate with filler, including tne hole that will be left by the removed socket.

As I already stated , no need to move it , not in the way .
(This is like pulling teeth ).

Ive bought a new Candy CTS6CEX 60cm Chimney Cooker Hood - Stainless Steel and wondering if anyone knows what additional things I need to buy to ensure this works effectively please? Recirculating and not being outdoor extracted?

have someone coming to install on Friday and it's getting delivered tomorrow so just need to make sure there's nothing he will say "ohh you are missing ......."

I read this review here but am stil confused as seems like I need a motor filter also?

"The hood is exactly the same as that of the CIARRA CBCS6102 model

This candy has a horizontal carbon filter under the engine but it does NOT have filters on the sides of the engine in the box

Candy's customer service unpresentable: they don't even know what product they sell and they recommended INCORRECT motor filters that I bought and now they are of no use to me.

Wth only the horizontal filter in an open kitchen odors do not filter well.
I will try to install the recommended engine filters for the CIARRA hood and if not... I will return it. I don't think it's a good product."

Pointless, it's needs to extract to outdoors..

What do you mean I haven't taken any advice? I HAVE taken all the advice given which was to get it externally vented.

We have had 3 electricians who have cisted and also have confirmed It CAN NOT be extracted outdoor due to there not being space to run ducting because

A) the boiler pipes take up all the space to make another extraction pipe, please see photos.

B) the only other options are would involve a huge amount of work of running the ducting up the ceiling, take up the new put down floor boards in upstairs bedroom etc.
Or run the ducting through the middle of the kitchen ceiling to about half way then turn to then go out the kitchen window but means cutting holes in the supporting joists to run the ducting throuhh in the ceiling which is not recommended.

C) or get a seperate extrator fan vent in the wall, not connected cooker hood vent.

is it possible to vent the cooker hood out door, no, not practically and would involve a huge amount of work and there maybe other issues that are not known until doing the work.

So my concerns are now with ensuring the cooker hood which is going to be used in a recirculating mode are all covered.

Finally the most helpful pictures!

But it wouldn't surprise me if a square section pipe would fit behind the exhaust pipe out of the boiler - that could then nbe converted back to round section to pass through the wall.

And simply accepted, that it cannot be done. It is the only way to effectively prevent such smells, so a way simply has to be found, to discharge outdoors. Why even bother replacing a recirculating fan, which you know causes you issues, with a new one installed in the same way? You are gaining nothing, solving nothing....

There is always a way....

Could you fit an extract system, which extracted down, below the work surfaces, and through the cupboard, to discharge below the window?

Could you run a pipe along the ceiling, and have it discharge to the left of the window?

Why are you talking to electricians to install this for you? An electrician usually deals with the wiring, rather than the installation you need - what you need it a builder, or perhaps a general handyman.

Do the joists above run perpendicular to the long edges of that ceiling boarding? Can you sketch your house floorplan, including an indication of the locations of any attached neighbours ? How thick is the floor, from the surface of this boarded ceiling to the surface of the floor boards above? What does the room above look like?

The pipes block a square section pipe fitting doesnt it? If you see the picture , this is what we were told anyway that theres no space because of those pipes.
