New roof just done (is this a bodged job?)

And if the roofing merchant says "I'd like to tell you but I can't because of the data protection act", politely inform them that the DPA only applies to private individuals. Anyone who has a trade account clearly holds it as part of their business activities and is therefore not classed as a private individual.
You must mean that it relates to information that could identify private individuals, not "only applies to private individuals".

The GDPR applies to business and suchlike and not private individuals in the context of who needs to carry it out.

Yes, GDPR only exists to prevent private individuals' information being transferred from an approved source to another. My bad, I didn't explain that more clearly, and possibly haven't again.

In short, if you are the director of a company, if you have a business bank account you cannot not expect to be provided anonymity under either the data protection act or GDPR.

If you transfer money to a business account, for example, and then ask the bank more about the account holder, they cannot hide behind the data protection act or GDPR. Last year I was ripped off by a dodgy contractor. I rang my bank to find out whom owned the account that had been paying me. They gave me the account number and sort code and told me to contact LLyods. They told me that they couldn't tell me anything about the account, even though it was a business account. I contacted the Information Comission Office to ask for a ruling. They phoned me back and told me that I was correct. Lloyds cannot withhold information pertaining to business accounts. I did email LLoyds but they didn't get back to me and I was too busy to pursue it.

Nevertheless, neither the DPA or GDPR grant businesses the opportunity to hide behind their bank or other institutions.

They are redoing it again today, they agreed to do a half bonded pattern; however, near the chimney they've broken the pattern; they said it's fine like that....
Am I being picky if I ask them to keep the same pattern all around?

I've drawn how the tiles should have been laid in my opinion

busted tile, and they are still not half bonded properly... better though

yes, I guess the last tile wasn’t exactly a half tile, so they just moved it to the other side every other row; I already discussed the broken tiles, they were already going to replace them

Its the easiest of roofs to do properly, a 1st year apprentice would get it right first time.
Not helpful I know but they are not roofers, these people give the trade a bad name.

This time they seem to have put some tape (?) on top of the chimney lead

I'll save some of the others having to post.

I don't actually laugh out loud at much on this forum but then on my second look .....

It's a bodge. I suspect the "roofers" can't do lead work.

they said they would leave the original lead in place as they said multiple times it was in good condition
is it possible they damaged it with all the times they had to remove tiles and put them back?
