I don’t know but we shouldn’t even have started housing illegal immigrants while this is going on:
Some can’t afford to "eat well" or "keep to the ideal temperature". One things for sure - I haven’t heard of ANY of these illegal immigrants dying through cold or lack of food while in the U.K. so they are clearly and obviously being better cared for than some of our own people.
Do many elderly frail pensioners cross The Channel these days?

Ah, so you are saying that because they cross the channel they are more deserving than our elderly and frail pensioners. We got there in the end.
1. they are decades younger, so are less likely to die of anything. Full stop.
2. being decades younger, they are unlikely to be living in "old, cold, poorly-maintained, and hard-to-heat" homes. Some of which are worth many hundreds of thousands of pounds.
And "Why are these homes "old, cold, poorly-maintained, and hard-to-heat"?", might be a good question to ask.
Could it be that greedy and grasping offspring don't want to degrade their eventual inherited nest egg, by "investing" a bit in their benefactor's comfort in their twilight years?

2. Have any of them spent a lifetime working and contributing to this country’s economy to be able to afford a house now worth many hundreds of thousands of pounds? Of these houses are worth more than they paid for them through inflation, is it their fault? It seems to me that you think it is.
