Northamptonshire Council is going bust

builder was recently fined 300 squid for a sandwich wrapper ect in the front of his van ,

I wonder if that's true.

The ticket was issued in May. What has he done since then?

What does this mean:

"The contractor said he appealed the sanction, but there was a "delay" in the council's response. He asked for clarification on the fine amount but was away when the authority responded."

What was the "lesser amount" mentioned?

What did the statement from the council say, when the papers checked the story before printing it?

Nobody on here knows.

What is a 'commercial waste bag'?

Does it have special features that are different to a black bin bag....

commercial waste bag  whats that a rubble sack from Tesco's . Or do u have to buy said item from the jobs worth at the local council ??

I search the press reports for the driver saying "no it wasn't a commercial waste bag." There is no such statement included.

Do you have reason to believe the council statement "The waste in this case was being transported in commercial refuse bag in the trader's vehicle" is untrue?

I suppose it wouldn't make such a good newspaper sensationalist story if they'd mentioned that it was true.

yep I dare say you have trawled the net . Try listening to Radio 4 . Its the BBC ;)

The council are a waste of space & as for the dcks up in Northampton as far as I am concerned they should have all there assets seized , houses , cars and any thing else of value in order to pay back the tax payer for there incompetence

I'm sure it's just as true as the other stories mentioned on the same page

for example

"PROOF AT LAST?
Girl, 12, takes ‘best Loch Ness Monster picture for years’ as ‘head and neck’ spotted 50ft from shore

Charlotte Robinson spotted the mythical monster on the first day of her holiday with her parents, as Nessie appeared to pop her head and neck out of the water"

You can always rely on the S*n.

What's their policy on football disasters?

Yeah, it's the sun's fault innit John. Tsk tsk. Stupid press for telling a story. Whatever next.

So when the story reads "Builder transporting rubbish in a Commercial Waste container in his Builder's Van fined for not having a Waste Transporter's Licence. Doesn't pay the reduced fine; doesn't make an appeal in time"

Doesn't have the same ring, does it?

 it will all be fake news to him. or propaganda bandied about by Right wing rabid quitters  he is a pencil pusher no practable experience doubt he could change a light bulb with out consulting the net or googling

some one who is clued up on this caper is Gasbanni , he has posted many times on waste licences in another place ages ago . He has also been stopped by council jobs worths over the caper
