Oops, that wasn't in the 'plan'!

The Office for National Statistics said there had been a rise in Asian citizens moving to the UK for work reasons.

So leave voters, voted to end free movement of mostly white Europeans, but are happy for highly skilled Asians to come and work here.

Well that proves leave voters most certainly are not racist.

Unless they were under the mistaken impression that Brexit would reduce immigration.
Now where would they get that idea from?

Nope.

Net migration to the UK, the difference between immigration and emigration, was 282,000 in 2017, down from a peak of 336,000 in the year ending June 2016
Good one notchy!Doppleganger,if you going to insert bits,,at least make it the same colour ffs, otherwise dead giveaway you fiddling it.

Somebody tell notch we're in 2018 now.

"Jay Lindop, director of the ONS's centre for international migration, said overall net migration had peaked in 2016 and remained fairly stable since then." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46384417

Maybe he'll reveal his source of his information, maybe he won't.

Doesn't matter Notch. I've found it but the statement is not supported by the graph. Clearly the figure peaked in 2015, dropped in 2016 then rose again in 2017.

A statistical anomaly is the explanation for the discrepancy:
"The highest level of net migration recorded is currently 336,000, a level reached in mid-2015 and again in the year ending June 2016, immediately before the EU referendum. In the year after the referendum (the year ending June 2017), net migration recorded its largest ever single-year fall, although part of this decrease was driven by a statistical anomaly in the measurement of non-EU students (ONS, 2018). The provisional estimate of net migration was 282,000 in 2017."

Maybe he will.

Net migration to the UK, the difference between immigration and emigration, was estimated to be 282,000 in 2017. This is down from a peak of 336,000 in the year ending June 2016, immediately before the EU referendum

The headline net migration figure for the UK is updated quarterly. The latest estimate released is that total net migration to the UK in the year ending March 2018 was 271,000.

So a peak of 336,000 year to june 2016
282,000 2017
271,000 year to march 2018

Or put another way: net immigration is down (y)

Clearly the figure peaked in 2015, dropped in 2016 then rose again in 2017.
Clearly that is a pointless statement: The referendum was June 2016 -so it would be meaningless to use 12months of 2016 as your figure D'oh! :ROFLMAO:

Immigration is down

Mind you people coming back to the UK will be on the rise all the UK nationals living in France are likely to get deported by our friend
And allie :)LOL:) Macron
