Our waters ....No fishing !

I realise your google cant find anything that shows anything positive about the EU

From your own googling research on the EU boyo......
  • "Jean Monnet, the founding father of the EU understood democracy was an obstacle to the elitist project and had to employ a degree of deception "

"Jean-Claude Juncker, today’s unelected EU chief makes clear that nothing much has changed, “when it becomes serious, you have to lie.” “There can be no democratic choice against the European treaties.”

"EU member states that have been ‘bailed out’—the bailout funds actually went to French and German banks"

"The EU is also no place to be young. In fact they have most to lose if we remain in the EU. An over competitive education system, the closure of vital youth support services and the introduction of student loans has meant that young people have fewer opportunities than their parents generation."

"With the EU being the world’s low growth region, with 23 million unemployed, the social fabric is deteriorating at an alarming rate. In some EU countries youth unemployment has pushed northwards of 50%."

    "
Outside of the EU we would be able to prioritise building a society without unemployment and with secure, skilled, well paid jobs. We would be able to tackle the unaffordable housing market and enable young people to develop again free from the chains of debt. "

"Young or old: the toxic mix in the EU of low growth, low productivity and mass unemployment means a bleak future."

"The EU conducts economic terrorism on a global scale through aggressive global trade policies and structural adjustment conditions, in particular towards African states."

"This has served only to deepen their poverty and inequality whilst enriching the white EU 1%. Nor does it build meaningful solidarity between EU states; through the lens of Greece and Germany we see tensions not witnessed since 1945."

"There is no doubt a successful UK exit would have huge support, and be emulated, across the continent. That is why the bankers and institutions of the EU were so desperate to force the Syriza government in Greece to its knees: in order to demonstrate to workers in other EU states the fate that would await them should they demand democracy and an end to austerity. It may have backfired."

"there is no shortage of postmodern opportunists lining up to claim it is better to stay in the EU and try to reform it. What they don’t have—and can’t have—is a strategy. The EU constitution doesn’t allow it."

"For those still struggling to understand why we must leave the EU: It’s democracy, stupid"

"It’s been astounding to witness so many left-wingers, in meltdown over Brexit, resort to parroting liberal economics"

From its inception, the EU has been a top-down project driven by political and administrative elites, “a protected sphere”,

"The direction of travel has been singular and unrelenting. To take one example, workers’ rights – a supposed EU strength – are steadily being eroded, as can be seen in landmark judgments by the European Court of Justice"

"More broadly, on trade, financial regulation, state aid, government purchasing, public service delivery, and more, any attempt to create a different kind of economy from inside the EU has largely been forestalled by competition policy or single market regulation."

A damning indictment by any standards.
The eu is a con. The greatest scam in all history.
Created on a lie, run on a lie and openly confessed as a lie by its own elites.

They just feed you what you want to hear.

What do they feed me?
Have you checked them out?

They feed you hogwash.
None of them are business people so not really worth listening too.
They might have a few degrees but thats about it.

Some people reckon that business in general will only settle for a complete no change really deal but unfortunately they don't make the decisions. Politicians and civil servents also called bureaucrats do. Bureaucrats never get knighted unlike our civil servants. No difference otherwise. It was the UK's turn to head the EU, that is one bureaucrat that might have got knighted at some point. The referendum timing was spooky given it's timing in relationship to that.

Fishing - get real folks they will still sell licenses to people who are prepared to pay just as they currently do. Boats may be docked here but ownership or docking for that matter could be anywhere.

Actually politics is now generally about targetting groups of people with specific views and encouraging those views - aim to gain more than 50% of the vote / enough to be in power. Convincing people isn't really needed. Careful use of words are used as well - slogans really / propaganda. We get loads of them in all sort of areas. The problem really is that people hear them, they are designed to be simple and people never really look at what goes on behind them. The media of one sort or another just repeats them over and over again. Fact checks sometimes give more info but we are all pretty dumb so can't really be capable of getting to grips with the entire picture - doing so might even bore us. Can't have that, it might mess up viewing / reading numbers.

but we are all pretty dumb so can't really be capable of getting to grips with the entire picture

Simplistic slogans win people over.

Brexit is complex, the counter arguments require detail and nuance -Ryler is unable to engage with that.

Fish and shellfish aren't that popular a part of a typical UK diet. A fisheries officer told me that the shelfish market was worth £1billion and more or less entirely licensed to people outside of the UK. That was about 10 years ago,

https://unearthed.greenpeace.org/2019/03/07/fishing-brexit-uk-fleetwood/

That one covers gov paying out decommissioning costs

Greenpeace - they just popped up. The same info one way and another is available from all sorts.

The sting in the tail behind all of this is that the UK waters don't have much in the line of popular fish. Herring seems to have made something of a come back but is hardly eaten here.

Just like many brexit persuaders the whole idea was to target groups with specific beliefs in a number of different areas to get a vote of over 50%. They just about did it.

Yer what !!!!!! Queuing to buy my Mum fish and chips yesterday for 25 minutes, people queuing outside the door. An hour later 5 miles away to get my wifes fish and chips queuing again the place was heaving 6 counter staff shouting out people's orders for collection.

We don't each much fish ......poppycock !

I don't cook much fish at home even with the extractor on it still smells fishy to be honest

Are you just stupid?

What do you think the EU has said?

"Mr Barnier was particularly critical of Britain’s insistence that fishing rights to its waters are decided by annual negotiations with the EU, something the British government says reflects its future status as an independent coastal state.

“This is absolutely impractical,” he said. “It is [a] dangerous job; we have a lot of respect for men and women that do that job, they deserve visibility [about future quotas],” Mr Barnier said.

Do you want the UK to renegotiate its permission to export cars and washing machines to the EU every year? And financial services? What will happen to our washing machine factories and banks if they can only see 12 months ahead?
