Panorama - The Smart Meter mess

After 55 years in electronics research and development ( of which12 years was in radio telecomunications ) my experience tells me that SimonH2 is correct.
But despite your vast experience notch will still say you are racist, denso will argue for 100 pages over one word, and noseall will deny that anyone ever said they were secure. And one or all of them with throw something in about lizards or something about 14 years.

and my even longer experience, tells me the same, the difference between us being - how likely is it that anyone might want to hack in, which in my opinion is infinitely tiny, really not worthy of consideration.

Naturally. Nor will you be able to. None of it bears a resemblance to reality. At least biking from the boatyard produced a letter showing concerns over some SM switching, but little else. Anecdotal whinging or fantasy, does not cut it, no.
and you provide nothing other than repeating your clueless opinion.

Not my fault you can not read and digest the article regarding analogue meter switching and subsequent compensation.

Not my fault that you made yourself look a dick, attempting to (wrongly) claim it was all to do with SM remote switching.

Not my fault you wrongly thought OFGEM banned SM switching to prepay when they don't have the authority, or the desire to do so. Did you know the SM remote switching suspension has been partially lifted ? Did you know OFGEM are on favour of some meter switching (to prepay)?

Correct about what? That anything that uses electronics and the Internet is subject to security issues?
And those same people are gleefully using their internet dependant electronic devices, to communicate their point, lol.

Hilarious selective use the luddite card.

Shame. We can all come up with theoretical scenarios, but if they don't happen in the real world they are pointless.
I’ve been out to one this morning. Kept going from on to ready, that’s a very common fault.

So the customer has no gas until someone comes to repair or exchange the SM for another SM.

That couldn’t happen with a dumb meter.

FACT

And right on cue -----
I think that is stating the obvious, nothing is completely secure.
Don't worry about the name as they are interchangeable when it comes to their predictable reply s
