Panorama - The Smart Meter mess

When and how many? If some one said replacing the older mostly mechanical meters with electronics could be less reliable I wouldn't argue but the mechanical systems do need removing and checking now and again.

What I would find hard to believe is that suppliers carry on fitting meters that have too high a fault rate. With electronics I would expect some small proportion of early failures. Nature of the beast and saving money on soak testing and things like that. Poor design is also possible.
I’ll keep a record for you from now on

1 This week as previously mentioned. That’s been changed now.

The process leading up to being cut off are exactly the same for both meters.

You are no more likely to switched or cut off with either meter.
You understand that the first sentence can be true and not the second? Though given the evidence regarding faulty smart meters, it seems neither is true.

Evidence?

You mean fact free gassy or troll nwgs?

Evidence my arse.

Do you not accept there are more faulty smart meters per working meter than faulty traditional meters per traditional meter?

That seems fairly well established by those who appear to install and repair them who’ve posted. Along with the buckets of evidence from all the links.

With what fault? Communication?

As a neutral, I've seen no evidence..

I'm not interested in a smart meter, but know that I will eventually have 1. Either by choice or by force.

But I also know it's just a meter.

What was wrong with it? I'm genuinely curious. No other reason for asking.

Never have one - the BBC link I posted mentions that when the life of the older ones is over, 10 to 20 years from new it will probably be replaced with a smart meter.

The same link also mentions calibration can be checked on them. The service is available.

Certainly take anything trolls gassy and nwgs say, with a pinch of salt. Both live in fantasy land.
Don’t be a poor loser. You’re worked very hard to look a pr1ck in this thread.

It’s usually natural for you.
