I’ll keep a record for you from now onWhen and how many? If some one said replacing the older mostly mechanical meters with electronics could be less reliable I wouldn't argue but the mechanical systems do need removing and checking now and again.
What I would find hard to believe is that suppliers carry on fitting meters that have too high a fault rate. With electronics I would expect some small proportion of early failures. Nature of the beast and saving money on soak testing and things like that. Poor design is also possible.
