But imagine what would happen if he was completely ignored.

Of course I understand where you're coming from by ignoring ignorant *terds like him (excuse my French), but IMO he's to far gone to realise he's ignored and will go an and on and on and on and on and....and hopefully talk himself to sleep

He'll just talk you back out of your tree, every time ! You cannot resist .. :D :D

Now ain't that a bit racialistic?

I agree and changed it a bit to terds (didn't want to 'chicken' out, but your right, should have found a better word)

Nah - I mean the 'French' bit. Like French kissing, a French letter etc. (It doesn't bother me, I just think it is a linguistic curiosity - that's why I used the ignorant word 'racialistic').

Now we're back at languages again :D
so you also object to Dutch courage, Dutch uncle :D :D

Dutch courage - when they all used to get drunk before going into battle?

Dutch uncle - eh?

Double Dutch - saying all Dutch people speak gobbledegook from long-ago rivalry.

German measles - nothing to do with Germany.

Spanish 'flu - nothing to do with Spain.

In France they say "The English Disease" when they talk about S&M.

There are loads more innit.

It's not that I object to them - but they are based on either a) negativity and/or b) ignorance.

I just looked "Dutch Uncle" up: it says stereotyping that all Dutch are stern, but may come from the confusion between Dutch and Deutsch, as all Germans are also stereotyped as stern.

The French call condoms "the English hat" apparently.
