A*se about face as usual...

No reply from you as to the £100 billion per year hit the UK economy has taken due to brexit?

You're the UK hater not me!
I’ll try again. Maybe you missed it.

So, are you happy that a British business is doing well and jobs have been saved or are you still hoping that the whole business collapses and people lose their jobs because the owner voted for Brexit? Do tell.

You said they were paid the same as others.

Not sure why the rush to defend him so much. Just because of brexit ?
and you said it was ok not to pay them as long as not sacked
Which was not the case they were paid
So going back to your original comment you are just bumping your gums as per without actually checking what actually happened regards employees being paid and keeping their jobs .
Brexit has nothing to do with it .
Its a case of correcting your ramblings about a company that are clearly wrong

Has he done well BECAUSE of Brexit, or DESPITE Brexit

Were they paid ? All of them? Or did some leave because they weren't paid ?

He was a good employer just because he supported Brexit ? Is that your summary ?

No good employer because
16 year olds get £8.10 an hour
Staff paid above living wage
staff get a free meal and drink on every shift regardless of length
staff get a wage enhancement for any time worked after midnight ( how many pubs do that )
25% discount on food and drink when not working
Company pension
free shares
Yep sounds a shyte company to work for

They got paid due to pressure, not because of a good boss.

JD Wetherspoon (JDW.L) has caved to public pressure and said it will continue to pay staff throughout the coronavirus shutdown.

The pub group said in a statement on Wednesday 25 March it would introduce a new scheme that would see staff paid 80% of their normal wages by the company. JD Wetherspoon will then apply for up to £2,500 ($2,969) per employee per month back from the government under its new coronavirus job retention scheme.

“As we have already confirmed, Wetherspoon will pay all our 43,000 staff this Friday for the hours worked last week,” founder and chairman Tim Martin said in a statement sent to media.

“The first payment under the new scheme will be made on Friday 3 April, subject to government approval, and weekly thereafter.”

Martin faced a huge backlash on Tuesday after sending a video to staff telling them they would not be paid until Wetherspoon received money from the government. Martin also suggested staff should look for work at supermarkets like Tesco.

So glad we cleared that up every member of staff got paid no one got sacked after their boss had tried to force the govenments hand to get millions of pounds into the company sooner rather than wait months for it when they were forced to close and pay millions out whilst not taking in any money .
Good business sense delivered in a wrong manner

Not sure we cleared that up. I think you will find some left before the reversal of payment was made.

If you still think he is a good boss for using his staff as pawns, for his bank balance ,is your choice.

Go on tell us how many employees left in those days despite still being paid and no break at all in staff wages .
