I'm 53 and the example I gave was my ex-wife's estate IHT position (same age). I doubt very much that she has any clue how to protect her estate.

You need to know when you are going to die. It is not as easy as you think.

It isn't a fair tax. Progressive taxes are fine. But with IHT, you have a tax free threshold and then a big sting. If everyone paid it would be fair.

Biker boy thinks that having lots of money is a terrible burden, and having to pay some tax is unfair.

If its such a great tax, lets apply it to all. No tax free allowance everyone pays say 5%. It would net millions for the government to waste.
