If its such a great tax, lets apply it to all. No tax free allowance everyone pays say 5%. It would net millions for the government to waste.

Apart from the facts that I'm not in the position - yet - to be the subject of IHT, nor would I be bothered if I were, you're missing one of the points of taxation.

Along with funding public services, encouraging or discouraging behaviours, whatever.

It’s your choice to earn more or not. I don’t think it’s particularly fair to expect a share of other people’s money because you choose not to earn your own.

So would you support IHT for all? No allowance and a lower tax rate. That way you can chip in too.
