Rape gangs. Why does the Home Office minister not want a national public enquiry?

In a nutshell...

No Idea what you are waffling on about in 2005.
I think biking from the boatyard wants an inquiry into the inquiry.
I think Noseall from daycare is just looking to start an argument. He could read up and educate himself.

key summary here:

The review's authors said Greater Manchester Police and Rochdale Council failed to properly investigate reports of abuse in Rochdale between 2004 to 2013 despite warnings from whistleblowers.

I'm aware there have been thorough enquiries into various aspects of child abuse. What is your point in relevance to this thread?

Do you want an inquiry into inquiries? Or do you want more enquiries? To what end?

I think biking from the boatyard is attempting to have a dig a Sir Keir and failing badly. He seems to be going around in incoherent circles, poor old duffer.
How do you attempt to have a dig?

I’m simply suggesting he is keeping the whole thing alive by attacking the critics and failing to explain his thinking at the time.

And correcting the misinformation about timelines.

Maybe, this has nothing to do with politics. But the failings of police, council services and DPP/CPS of the day. If only there was a report or two that basically says exactly that… oh wait there is. Not that you will read it.

What date was the review?

Who was in power between 2004 to 2013 ?

so what did Tories do about that review between 2013 and 2024?
In 2010 the investigations were reopened, in 2012 9 men went to prison. Rochdale council and GMP have made changes since. 2 years after the convictions the DPP changed their own guidelines.

Maybe this is about fixing the problem not arguing about politics.

Don’t you know?

If the Tories are so concerned about this issue, how come they didn't hold an inquiry during their term in office?
It's hardly new news.

They did hold an enquiry.

Can you guess how many of the recommendations they implemented before being thrown out of office?

I think you have answered the point.

Why are you arguing about the politcs and not the problem ?

He's attempting to pin blame on Sir Keir, but without any facts. He claims he heard a right winger saying nasty stuff about Sir Kier, so him and President Musk are convinced.

His posts so far about various enquiries have made no mention of Sir Keir being culpable. Zero. Zilch.

Pants on fire. Quit trolling.

Read up on the facts and maybe make a contribution.

It’s not me keeping this alive. Starmer is attracting attention by failing to explain his thinking at the time.

There are a 100 acceptable excuses he could use.
