This inflation thing - specifically, Rishi's and Jeremy's "we're gonna do this to inflation" rhetoric - at best leaves me uncomfortable.
Unless a complete basketcase banana republic economy (which we're not quite at, yet) inflation is self-limiting; it was never going to run away, not in a mature and (relatively) stable, first world economy..

Yeah, core inflation excludes food and energy so only applies to those that don't use food or energy. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone that doesn’t rely on food or energy. Do you?
Core inflation removes volatile items to create a more stable measure of underlying inflation trends.
It’s obvious you want to use a metric that has zero to do with govt policies.
