Should billionaires and multinationals pay fair tax?

The shortage of houses is not the private landlords fault but the house builders themselves - its not in their interest to build too many too fast. Its a controlled throttling.

Yes, and you'll tell me that private landlords are buying up what they can in the name of altruism, and the good of society. (y)

Or, are they doing it to enrich themselves at the expense of their tenants?

So a house increases in value.

When do you ever see that value unless you downsize, or die. And you don't see it then.

It's paper value, nothing more. But it stops others, like the younger you, from owning a property.
So let me get this right, you don't favour houses increasing in value, thus ensuring everyone can get on the property ladder?

Homeowners...? Or do you mean people that own houses? What do a majority of renters have to say?
Ah right, I see. In your world there are home owners, cuddly wuddly people that see their bricks and mortar purely as a home and nothing else. They care not one bit if their bricks and mortar goes up or down in value as it's their home, nothing more nothing less.

Then there are those who own houses, scum who only look on their bricks and mortar as a way to make more £££ through the bricks and mortar increasing in value. They don't see the bricks and mortar as a home whatsoever, just a money making tool.

At least we know where you stand.

Right on cue..............

Was that the point where you threw up a strawman, or the one where you argued against something that no-one had actually said?

You really can't help doing it, can you?

Landlords, plural.

Then how about a ban on people buying second new build homes. But let landlords buy the older stock - which they will do up and rent out.
Would that be ok for you.
Or do you want no one to be renting at all
