I make profits from a range of folk. From as poor as pi$$ to comfortably wealthy. Are you saying I should refuse to work for the poor folk and allow them to get ripped off by a scamming builder?
So you can understand that a private landlord can set the rent modestly and provide a good service, because he's happy to make a little money on the investment and wants to keep his tenant happy?

Noseall told us how he feels in post 731, couldn't be clearer ;)

Profit to cover expenditure? Don't be silly now!

No. We advocate the building of thousands...millions of homes so that the bottom falls out of the market and greedy, grasping bloodsucking parasitic, misery inducing Rigsby's are stuck with their depreciating shítholes. (y)

So you'd like to inflict even greater misery on their renters, by not having a good builder fix the leaking roof, the dangerous broken slabs, the dodgy wiring?
Why the hell would a "greedy, grasping bloodsucking parasitic, misery inducing landlord" want to employ a good builder - your comment does not make sense.

but then what would you do for a living, when the market for extensions dried up?

Dunno? I've not met many.

For the uninitiated - most folk employ a good builder to do good work on their houses.

He could carry on working for "greedy, grasping bloodsucking parasitic, misery inducing landlords " who's money he loves - ah but wait in his world landlords would not exist.
