Good idea, although far less damage would be caused by terrorists , by allowing a hijacked aircraft to crash into the Olympic Stadium. Damage would be limited to just one area, instead of being spread over a wider area and we don't have to pay for land to air missiles, or pay for the people to man them..
( I really should work for the MOD, with a brilliant idea like that. )
Pity we don't have a Labour Govt, I'm sure they'd buy into my idea.

I'd be delighted to have a SAM battery on my roof, I think it would be really cool.. Plus I think that burglars and scrap thieves would leave a wide berth.. Shame the Olympics have all been based in the Grim South where everyone is a miserable git...
i aint miserable,just glad there not near me.
personally think its a total waste of money.and ill be surprised if all the facilities will be used to there full potential as they all have in other parts of the world.

Thats just ridiculous we have not declared a state of war.
I am pretty sure most insurance policies would not cover armaments misfiring on your building.
They can sod off with that idea , and what's the plan? To knock out a plane which would land in a fireball in which populated area , killing how many people?
The whole terrorism battle strikes me as boys and toys...
Just like police cars getting faster and faster , scoobies , evos etc etc.. They are just toys for the boys to play with - because they can..
and like police chases ending in death and destruction so will loosing off some toys into the sky over the Olympic skies..

It's not police policy for car chases to end in death and destruction, nor the police who cause death and destruction. It's all in the hands of the feckless halfwits who steal cars in the first place, or fail to stop when requested to do so.
