The Brexit Solution - Learning from History

The clearer air is a good one. As I see it it went something like this:

UK accepts freedom of movement.
Approx 2m people come here
They bring their cars too, obviously
Some of them are German cars
With cheat code for the emissions tests.
We fail our pollution targets in many big cities.
We get stung with fines for being too polluted.

... all for upholding their precious freedom of movement rules, and for cars that we didn't make in the first place. Well thanks a bunch EU.

Of course they don't negotiate any compensation for people who bought these cars, as they've done in the US. Nothing more than
a slap on the wrist from the EU on our behalf.

It's hardly surprising that they weren't interested in dishing out any punitive fines if you remember how they stood up for
us during the beef crisis:

The problem is there is no overriding principle of fairness in the EU. They shove some money here, some money there, and we're all supposed to think they're wonderful as a result. It's other people's money. EU tax payers money. Our money.

So what?

You don't know what EU freedom of movement is.

Hence the rest of your post is nonsense.

How nice you you that you can find a technicality in someone's post that allows you to rubbish the rest of it. It must be very satisfying for you. I'm sure we can all move forward together like that with a better understanding of each other's view points.

Apart from being arrogant control freaks. My main reason is with the threat of ISIS they seem to think open borders is a good idea..
WTF...An irrational fear of a 'threat' is no reason to commit economic suicide!

And as for 'arrogant control freaks' we have plenty of those in westminster - 'elected' under a far less democratic system!

I want the people I vote for to make the laws that suit our country our culture.
Under FPTP you can't...

But just out of interest, what exactly is 'our culture' and what laws do you think 'suits our country'?

you think that not knowing the rules, and building an argument on a falsity, is "a technicality?"

Whatever options the UK had about limiting movement I still believe they hid behind the EU and basically used that as an excuse. I think a lot of people don't really care who signed what agreement, it's the outcome that matters. So whatever (understandable) blame you want to level at the UK the underlying concept was EU-driven, and without the EU things would have been different.

'Sleep-walking' into things (like a 60 billion euro exit liability) is the problem, it isn't specifically the EU, although I have my issues with them as well.

BTW: About the health care I've just come back from holiday and we had to pay for a GP visit abroad because the UK is rejecting too many of these health claims now and foreign doctors are having to foot the bill, seems the pendulum swung back the other way on that.

with vague flannel, he suggests that the reason UK suffers traffic pollution, is a rule describing under what conditions an EU citizen may travel to another part of the EU for work.

That's nonsense.

No, nothing of the sort. My post was about the fines. So are you saying that the increased emissions due to VW cars in addition to the recent population influx hasn't pushed one single city over their emission target?

Time is running out ;) Armageddon is fast approaching, ("Rabid quitters" ) ;) People need to pull there eads out of the back sides & start taking this brexit scenario seriously.

Survival is the priority.

Essentials need to be hoarded , food , medicines , bottled water, fuel for heating and cooking . Also consider getting a generator.

Do you lock your doors at night? How irrational.
Not always...but then we're not plagued by rabid quitters around here!

So, would you care to tell us how many ISIS related killings there have been in the UK?

And then go on to tell us whether you ever travel by car?

If you want to think about irrational, go do the maths and come back with a sensible response!

You forgot to put a shotgun on that list...

An essential to protect yourself from rabid quitters when their unicorns desert them ;)
