The Killing of Mark Duggan

I thought it was about running through the scenarios of what could be the case what happened on the day.
It was, but was investigated with a purpose and not neutrally.

The verbal part for example was not taken into account

I think the fact it got settled out of court means this kind of technology will have a bearing on trials going forward in the future.
We know in the past people got fitted up,it might not be as easy with this technology.

Sometimes it's a circumspect decision to settle out of court if sensitive information regarding police procedure might be compromised in due process. Not necessarily a conspiracy.

You mean when somebody might lose their police pension when they kill someone in cold blood, I see what you mean.

You mean when somebody might lose their police pension when they kill someone in cold blood,
An inquest jury found he was lawfully killed and appeals by the family to the High Court, the Appeals Court and the Supreme Court didn't change anything. You might think this was all a ruse to save someone's pension but some people see a conspiracy in everything.

Or maintain the anonymity of a witness or informant.....
Or to hide the fact that a secure criminal phone network has been hacked.....

Or even to reduce the risk of further community unrest.

I think you assume a lot with that post (no change there)
I'm an observer of the justice system in this country and don't come down on the side of the police or the crims, it's more a case of trying to make some sense of how it operates as it does.

These are all part of the menagerie.

Part of the issue is the grouping - "the police" - when, in reality, it is a group of individuals, each making their own decisions.

If you work for any organisation, I'd bet the people within it span, have spanned, and will span in the future, a wide range of human attitudes and behaviours.
The honest, the chancers, the downright liars, the grafters, the idle........
While you'd hope that the overall structure and hiring processes would negate the bad behaviours, I doubt that "the police " are much different.

The guy almost certainly had a gun. Nothing in that investigation showed he stood still or was attempting too. His hands were in his pockets.

If you were the police officer who the guy appeared to be moving towards, would you shoot or wait ?

The gun was found 7 metres away, did Dugan throw it or was it planted afterwards when recovered from the back of the taxi or recovered from his body.

The inquest report/jury went into all of this.
