They do if they aren't on duty as the train is moved without authorisation. What do YOU call taking something without consent? Or make it a milk-float or ambulance. If it is taken without authorised consent - then it is stolen. Do you know ANYTHING about the law??

Lets look at the legal definition of theft then shall we mr barrack room lawyer. Where is his intention to permannetly deprive the owner of it if he is just moving it? It cannot therefore be theft. He would also have a statutory defence in that he was doing it in good faith and thought that the owner would consent, so the theft fails on two counts.

So joy-riding isn't theft then as the car is only borrowed and he thought the owner wouldn't mind? Were you a REAL police officer or was it just in your dreams?

Thermo, if you still have any kind of warrant card then I reckon we can get him sectioned.

They took it off him when he was pensioned with a bad back.

Ahh but psychiatric nurses can also section people too

Only when they are on duty.

No Joy riding as you call it isnt theft its taking without lawful authority. So that is why a new law was bought in to cover that loophole as there is no intention to permanently deprive. Gosh thought you would have known that one. You see the law is quite complex really, just because you say something doesnt mean it is. Still i havnt got time to sit here all evening and educate you, perhaps you could read a book or watch a television program or something similar. At least then you could look like you know what you are talking about, and actually base your replies on facts rather than the world according to Joe-90

Tut Tut barrack room lawyer, know your stuff please, it makes you sound wanting on so many levels

You mean it's a bit like 'working without authority'?

So you now agree that an ambulance driver taking an ambulance without authority is committing a crime?

We're getting somewhere folks.

Where, exactly, is this taking anyone, other than down the garden path?

Thermo has told you that taking a vehicle without authority is a crime. Live with it.

No, he didn't - you just asked him if it was a crime, and he hasn't answered you.

No look at the legal definition of theft. If he was acting in good faith and he honestly believed he would have permission to do so then he wouldnt commit an offence. Honestly ive told you before check your facts

tut tut tut

er and no we dont agree thats plainly obvious

if your going to quote me then get your facts right, dont try to turn what im trying so hard to teach you around. You see ive already mentioned the legal defences to theft and taking without authority, yet they seem to have passed you by. Please pay attention

honestly!

Do I take it you all agree that the NHS are wasting money by having meetings in private hotels then?

nhs are wasting money left right and centre, mainly through too many unworkable management structures

If he was a pro ambulance driver he would know that unofficial use of a vehicle was expressly forbiden - so he would (according to you) know that he was committing an offence. That is why drivers and staff 'sign on'. Do you know nuffink?

When the argument is lost - the abuse begins.
