Yeah I would agree with that. Over the decades we've had, and continue to have, copious amounts of white politicians from all levels who have been incompetent or worse. When someone who's not white is incompetent, it's lazy to bring up their colour as some sort of contributing factor.

Politics aside, this is often why you'll hear non white folk saying they have to work that bit harder to prove themselves. Why? Cause they know if they don't quite hit the mark on something, their ethnicity will be considered as a contributing factor by some.

There again, some just like being able to bring up skin colour whenever they can, even if the link is tenuous or non existent

haven read all this thread as its fully pointless if your selection process is fully chosen by the extreme off one side off the party over the good off the country in general then only disaster can happen as extreme dogma overrules care good thoughts and a path to a good happy cohesive society

If Chemi is as pragmatic as some suggest she might well whip the torey faithfull back into the centre ground. I cant see what else she means by being “honest” with members. Unless Nige is going to be made deputy leader via the Lords

We know that the proportion of genuine asylum seekers has fallen since other forms of legal migration were closed off, but we have a moral and legal duty to to accept those who are genuine. The hard right’s problem is that they dont want anybody with a different skin color regardless of the merits of their situation.
