However, is the covid vaccine tried and tested as the above ones?

Where the above was all tested for years? I know the polio one was discovered and given a matter of days later.

Anyway, we've discussed tested / developing of vaccines many times, and many scientists have explained why we can develop them quicker.

In short - we know how to make and test them faster now. Just like cars and the internet are faster. Don't worry about understanding it, just accept it.

I'll never accept anything that can't be explained to me.
I'm not a sheep.
Besides, how come your "scientist" are still struggling to find a Aids vaccine?

Do you accept nuclear fission reactors, or quantum mechanics? Because most people don't understand these things, but accept that they are real.

But this fast vaccine development has been explained many times already here on this forum.

But, 2 things really. This vaccine was not developed quickly, it took almost a year.
The reason other vaccines are generally developed at a slower rate is down to economics, politics, management, and resources. We have the skills and knowledge to develop vaccines much faster than society allows us to.

Think of it like building. If you wanted to build a housing development on the edge of the greenbelt, it would take you years to make it happen, dealing with planning, investors, building companies, etc. etc. If the government decided they needed 100 new homes in 3 months, they could make it happen.

Yes, I do because I understand the concepts.
Plenty of documentaries for the masses out there.
Instead the only documentaries about Aids vaccine is about not being able to find one.
Possibly because Aids doesn't just go away on its own like covid?

The difficulty with finding a vaccine for aids is that HIV infects the white blood cells that are the body's defence system. Its a bit like trying prepare for a battle by buying lots of weaponry, only to find that the enemy has a way of stopping those weapons from firing at them. Whilst we don't have a cure, scientists have found combinations of drugs that suppresses it indefinitely.

However, whether have a cure for aids is completely unrelated to whether the Covid vaccines have been properly tested and whether you should have one.

Pulling all the stops out, adding limitless funding - things can usually be done much quicker. It happened during both world wars and in the lead up to the Falklands War.

AIDS has nothing to do with this. Are you honestly suggesting that just because one virus is a bit tricky, all are?
Also, there are treatments for AIDS now, thanks to the research. People take a lot of drugs and they don't die. Do you think that is a bad thing?

Re covid vaccine, they already knew about the coronavirus viruses, had worked on SARS and were in a pretty good position to create a vaccine within a year.

It isn't rocket science, it's a bit more complicated, but there are books, and there are documentaries.

Watch and learn some new concepts - it's only 45 minutes

some light reading for later

It isn't rocket science
Why don't you come up with Aids vaccine yourself then?
Maybe one that will make you "safer".
You see how flawed your thinking is?
We were talking about the speed of producing a vaccine and I asked why in over 30 years despite the billions invested in Aids research, nobody has come up with a vaccine yet.
So perhaps is not just a matter of money, is it?
Maybe the fact that the vaccine makes you "safer" but not safe is an indication that it doesn't really work.
Maybe.

And maybe nothing that anybody in the world tells you will ever seep through the impermeable barrier to facts which you have erected around your brain.

Um, that is not my thinking, that is your thinking.

Aids research, nobody has come up with a vaccine yet.

Aids - as I already said, and you totally ignored, not all viruses are the same. But, we have very good treatments for AIDS that came out of that research. Many people live with it and avoid death - this is the aim of the game.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Haven't you noticed how people have largely stopped dying of covid in the UK? Don't you ever watch the news?

Look, something else you can refuse to read: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)00947-8/fulltext

The important bit: "There were marked and sustained declines in SARS-CoV-2 incidence corresponding to increasing vaccine coverage. These findings suggest that COVID-19 vaccination can help to control the pandemic."

Haven't you noticed how people have largely stopped dying of covid in the UK? Don't you ever watch the news?
No, I haven't noticed.
In fact despite living in a densely populated area in London, I haven't seen piles of corpses and haven't heard anyone I know dying from Lord Covid.
What I've noticed is people getting very sick and dying because the "heroes" of the nhs (aka national covid service) stopped all treatment non covid related.
Empty wards, empty scanning units, empty consultation rooms, empty rehabilitation centres, empty surgical theatres.
All in the name of Lord Covid, the Greatest.
And don't you even try saying this is not true because members of my family have been the victims of this and my cousin died of heart attack because turned away from a&e.
My granddaughter has gone private for a simple tonsilectomy after waiting a year, being very sick and being prescribed piles of stronger and stronger antibiotics which were killing her liver.

I watch the news and it's all a pile of lies.
The fact that they fiddle with numbers to confuse people tells it all.
In 16 months of this rubbish the bbc and other mainstream NEVER mentioned that in England 1600 people die every day in normal times.
So the gullible, when they hear that 1567 people died in one day, believe that it's a gigantic number.
Then they give you the total number of "infected" which includes papayas, goats, sterile swabs, etc.
What a lot of shyte.

Aids - as I already said, and you totally ignored, not all viruses are the same
So out of all viruses, Lord Covid is the intelligent one.
And we found a cure for it in a few months.
Although, this cure doesn't really cure the disease as the vaccinated can get it again.
And you believe that.
