There's rumours that when the bodycam footage is finally released this is going to be bigger than George Floyd.

What was that supposed killing of a black youth by police in America during the covid years that was going to be a big story until it turned out the police were innocent and had been victims of media demonisation at which point we heard nothing more about it?

No, I can't remember either.

Yawn. Come on then, what 'rumours' have you been privy to that us mere mortals have been kept in the dark about and where exactly have you heard them? Quick now, let us in on what you heard.

There was a story recently of a 13 year old black kid in the USA who was shot and killed for allegedly breaking into cars. All hell broke loose and the usual "whites killing blacks" propaganda came out. Turns out it was a black bloke that shot him. Rumours could have easily started rioting and looting, but then, so could anything over there.

Before you all jump on this subject, and the issue is way deeper than we are led to believe.

I was a passenger in a car pulled over by the police. I was told by the driver as he took out the car keys and put them on the top of the dashboard in front of the steering wheel, clearly in view, " put your hands on the dashboard"

The driver was a professional worker for a world wide famous business.

Just happened to be black, but explained later, it's not worth the risk to protest your innocence, just protect yourself, then work it out after.

sad state of affairs, and the police out there have a tough job. But it's not all the 1 way you might be thinking.

There isn't any mobile phone or private cctv footage in the wild. Something I find very strange these days & which might be part of the story . . . . . .

UK or USA?

Usa.

I hardly ever see any police over here, regardless of how bad the driving is, or any other reason for a vehicle to be stopped
I cannot imagine what it would feel like to be a cop pulling over a car in a 'gun' state, especially in a time or area where cops have been shot in similar circumstances.

From the 'cop baiting' clips that yootoob seems to throw up it strikes me that neither side seems to know how to behave.

Referring specifically to the states (and yes I know it's the same across the globe to varying degrees between people of all colours) racism is still rife. I've not read the reports into this case so whether race had a part to play I can't say. However 5 officers have been dismissed so something obviously went seriously wrong.

Unless they do something about gun ownership in the states, they will forever have problems when it comes to policing that countries like the UK don't have. I'm not stupid, I know there are folk with guns in the UK, however as a % of the population we don't have the widespread gun ownership they do.

Here, let's say 2 police officers pull over a guy for speeding and he starts to lose his rag. The officers need to deal with the situation as required. However take that same scenario in the states. At the forefront of those officers minds has to be 'does this guy have a gun?' which ramps up the tension and must surely also have an affect on decisions that are made there and then.

I'd hate to live in a country where gun ownership is common.

I deserved to be gunned down as punishment for being D&D in Dallas. Though how it's possible to get like that on American beer is anyone's guess. Maybe a few JDs had been added, or just youthful inexperience. However, the police were quite polite with me and gave me a nice ride in the back of their cruiser. One of the highlights of my visit.

The 5x cops already dismissed are all black. This doesn't mean that racial profiling wasn't involved.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it kind of odd, that 5x cops can be dismissed in such an early stage of the investigation?

If a black person is lost in say Texas, they would not dare wander up a strangers drive seeking help. The risk of being shot is extremely high in some neighbourhoods. Nuttiest place on the planet.
