Which statues are you thinking of? They didn't use copper tools directly but used them in conjunction with abrasives, the tool marks match up to recreations. At least for Granite, dolomite is much softer.

Dolomite is an extremely hard stone...
They couldnt carve it, or granite into perfect figures with copper chisels...

Several blows with that soft copper chisel and it would eventually end up one inch long!!!!

Also, making random hits on a rock is nice, carving a bloc and not destroying it with a misplaced hit is another story.
Then you have to make it laser perfect to match the granite boxes and blocks of the Great Pyramid. And the statues.
This video just like any other of the same type fails to show what is actually doable by showing that one can do a minuscule thing with it, so with time and man power you could scale up and achieve the same quality as predynastic Egyptians. Lol.
Yet not one time in recorded history has anyone built a similar block out of granite. I wonder why?
