Tell us again how well the Russian economy is doing?
I think the figures you quote are for tax revenues from oil sold to the west.
Hope this helps.

Jan 17 (Reuters) - Russia's current account surplus hit a record high in 2022, the central bank said on Tuesday, as a fall in imports and robust oil and gas exports kept foreign money flowing in despite Western efforts to isolate the Russian economy.
Russia's current account - a measure of the difference between all money coming into a country through trade, investment and transfers, and what flows back out - came in at $227.4 billion, up 86% from 2021

It's not. Those were stats for their total Tax take and their government deficit.

January 2022 was a good financial time for Russia, not so much this year.

The European Commission said today:

"Russia’s energy blackmail has failed.

Thanks to the efforts of EU citizens and businesses, we have cut our gas use by 19% between August 2022 and January 2023. And our gas storage is still filled at 62%.

We are phasing out Russian pipeline gas by diversifying our energy supplies. In 2022, our LNG imports increased by 68% compared to 2021.
And we are massively investing in renewables to produce clean energy in Europe.
With European unity and a smart energy policy, we are strengthening our energy independence."

What sort of nation would be so stupid as to cut itself off from its closest neighbours and best trading partners?

The EU used more coal last year than 2021 by 28TWh. They also used more Solar power (39Twh) and around the same additional Wind. And a bit more Gas for that matter. Last year was a bad year for nuclear and hydro, they badly underperformed and so Coal and Gas were used to cover.

We used less coal last year than 2021.

And so far coal use in the EU is dropping fast in 2023, so Russia's invasion doesn't seem to have put the phase out of coal back much.

Coal's down a lot.

It's not the future JD, as has been pointed out by the wind advocates who are quick to point out when the winds blowing.
When the winds not been blowing which has been the occasion this February, then the modern day parlance instead of a rain dance must be a wind dance to settle their nerves.

Your post makes no sense.

Are you trying to pretend that coal is not going down?

If I say it's not the future, it's a bit of a giveaway not because it could be but because in today's ideology it's not a hope of being entertained.
