Ukraine counter offensive

Like the Moskva?

Bigger the boat, bigger the target,
I mentioned that they are vulnerable when facing an enemy with suitable kit but people thought otherwise. The main defence seems to be effectively a large calibre machine gun, Belt loaded with a very high firing rate. Then make the gun agile. I've read that the USA is working on the same for tanks. Able to track 8? targets. ;) Increased as Russia came up with a dummy followed by the real thing. I wonder how many missiles a side would be prepared to fire to take out a carrier?

The Moskva. Great achievement etc but bear in mind it's rather old hat and replaced by smaller cheaper missile ships Subs too these days. They have plenty of both.

Offensives - time will tell. More a Russian withdrawal so far really. Good but .................. Nukes, chemicals. It seems western intelligence thinks not as there are other things they could use but haven't so far.

Troops - fact is even Ukraine has a seasoned troop problem but much larger fresh numbers easily available. Some get 2 weeks training here in the UK.
Make no mistake about it, if not for Putins invasion of Ukraine, the UK would be in a full scale trade war with the EU.
Do you ever think about the results of that sort of thing to both sides? Obviously not.

At least when the Americans invade some country they are initially very successful

And they do it thousands of miles away from there country

The Russians seem a hopeless mob
Logistics
Air support
Supply

Ect ect

And this is on there own border

The EU has obviously thought about it.
The Protocol agreement which they said couldn't be renegotiated is now up for renegotiation.
The EU is now saying that only a couple of trucks a day now need to be inspected and only if there is reasonable suspicion of something dodgy on board.
They now realise how much they need Britain to bale them out in their self inflicted war in Ukraine.

The idiot Johnson has been sacked now.

Let's hope Truss is not quite stupid enough to curry favour with the Brextremists by trying to foment hatred against our neigbours.

Luckily Tranny is not part of the government.

Got a link to that?
Or are you believing what Poots is claiming?

RUSI crunching the numbers:

. 'The winner in a prolonged war between two near-peer powers is still based on which side has the strongest industrial base. A country must either have the manufacturing capacity to build massive quantities of ammunition or have other manufacturing industries that can be rapidly converted to ammunition production. Unfortunately, the West no longer seems to have either.'

. 'behind the Russian invasion stands the world’s manufacturing capital – China. As the US begins to expend more and more of its stockpiles to keep Ukraine in the war, China has yet to provide any meaningful military assistance to Russia. The West must assume that China will not allow Russia to be defeated, especially due to a lack of ammunition. '

I assume you are referring to me
Jonny

I should be part of the government
Things would be dealt with via a diplomatic solution

Carot and the stick :giggle:

I very much doubt it.

I'll add having a trade war with an area that takes a lot of our exports and also makes up a fair proportion of our imports is frankly a truly stupid idea that wont go down well with either side. It's an idea mostly from people who got what they voted for except it didn't turn out as they expected.
